I built this deck based around the theory that messing up the opponent's setup and energy supply wins games. I don't think the list needs much work, but I mainly wanted to share the deck and its strategy. Here it is!

NOTE:

Pokemon {11}

  • {4} Absol [Secret Wonders; used for a quick 50 damage w/ Darkness Energy, or to discard cards from opponent's hand. Ideal starter]
  • {3} Ambipom [Used for big damage fast, further discarding, and/or Energy control]
  • {3} Aipom [Can be used to snipe their bench in rare cases]
  • {1} Sableye [Crystal Guardians; Great for controlling what cards will be drawn, can be used to discard worthless cards depending on the match up. Further disruption/staler with Disable]

Trainers{34}

  • {4} Team Galactic's Mars [Further discarding + Draw power]
  • {2} Team Galacic's Wager [Tech to comeback from opponent drawing WAY too many cards, use Castaway to get it]
  • {3} Celio's Network [Used to get whatever Pokemon is most beneficial]
  • {3} Rosanne's Research [To help get setup. Prevents energy droughts]
  • {3} Castaway [Get best supporter (usually Mars), a Basic Energy, and Cessation Crystal or Strength Charm]
  • {2} Cessation Crystal [Reject decks that rely on Poke-Powers/Bodies. Rememberer, it shuts down your Sableye]
  • {2} Strength Charm [Very helpful when 10 damage short of the KO. Watchout that you don't plan to attach it to a Pokemon w/ a Cessation Crystal]
  • {3} Crystal Beach [Reject Gallade decks that use DRE and Scramble. Crush Blissey variants reiant on Boost energy]
  • {4} Pokedex HANDY910is [Basic draw power. Thin deck. More speed from this non-Supporter]
  • {4} Energy Removal 2 [Disruption that works very well in conjunction to Ambipom's first attack]
  • {2} Warp Point [Can be a disruptive force. Switch out]
  • {2} Time-Space Distortion [Get Ambipom + Aipom back, or recycle Sableye]

Energy{15}

  • {3} Darkness Energy [Special; to be played on Absol for Raid or Sableye for extra damage output]
  • {1} Darkness Energy [Basic; this is to be taken with Castaway or Rosanne's when a Darkness Energy is need for Absol's Raid attack in a position where you don't have any Special Darkness Energy to use]
  • {3} Holon Energy WP [For use in conjunction with Water Energy to make Ambipom immune to attacks that don't do damage like Gallade's first attack]
  • {6} Water Energy [For use with Holon Energy WP to gain its extra effect]
  • {2} Cyclone Energy [Disruption that can make them switch out their active]

Strategy Summary:
Try to start with Absol, and denigrate their hand while building up an Ambipom. Then bring out Ambipom and start plowing through their Pokemon, while using Team Galactic's Mars to regulate their hand size. Eventually they will get something big built up since they were likely stalling to power up an evolved Pokemon. Now is when you start unloading Energy Removal 2 and using Ambipom's first attack to prevent their powerful Pokemon from attacking. If possible, you try to prevent them from building up a beast in the fist place by forcing them to switch it into the active position with Cyclone Energy or Warp Point to lay the smack down quickly. Once the big boys are down if they ever got any setup, continue to plow through their underdeveloped Pokemon until victory is reached! It is a very fun deck to play with. I must admit that I would be afraid to face it myself .

I'm open to suggestions! Thanks for reading!

I'd use more TGW. With one as a tech you have a 10% chance of prizing it. On top of that, if your opponent ever draws into a stevens, copycat, birch, etc. and comes back... you're in trouble.

Thanks for having such a clear decklist/strategy.

Honestly, my single TGW has never seen use. I can usually keep their hand below the limits of TGW. However, the one time it could have been useful, it was prized . Maybe I will add another or two. I guess I would replace Quick Ball since that is my only trivial card.

One time I battled a guy playing Furret, and he would use that thing to take Birches and Copycat just to counter me. That was the case where I needed it. Thanks a lot for the advice! I appreciate it!

Not a problem. I tried to take after you example. It makes the deck very easy to understand.

So, later I'll probably update the list to include another Team Galactic's Wager. Are there any other cards that anybody else thinks this deck could use? Mainly, I'm looking for disruption.

It seems fun to play. And, I also think that having an extra TGW or so is good in my book. It can get you out of a jam and disrupt your opponent at the same time.

Just 1 Basic Dark would be really good I think, since it can be incredibly easily fetched and dropped with Absol to do 40. I think a another Cess or two would do you well to bait out Windstorms or stop annoying powers like Energy Draw, Excavate, and Telepass.

Yeah, I was thinking about a teched Basic Dark. I didn't want to remove any Water energy since they are so important. I guess removing a Special Darkness would be the best choice to tech one of those in. You are right on the Cessation Crystals, but in my metagame, basically the only card that anybody plays with a usablePoke-Power is Gardevior.Usually they can't get one of those set up. They choose to go with Gallade. And the funny thing is that nobody plays Windstorm here ! Crystal Beach and Cessation Crystal are always locked in since nobody plays Stadiums or Windstorm! Thanks!

-1 Wager
+1 Copycat (y hurt them wen u can use them to help u?)
oh and by the way I like the way u set this post up... lol and I hope that helps

Isn't cyclone energy rotated?
If so I'd add in like a basic or spec dark energy
:thumb:
Cyclone Energy is in EX: Power Keepers, and EX: Power Keepers is a Modified legal set.
I'm going to add a tech Basic Darkness Energy to the list, I just hadn't updated it yet. Thanks

Hmm, but the real point of TGW here is to try to bring their hand down if they make some massive comeback (as in 6 or more cards in their hand), it not really to help me setup. I also don't agree with Copycat here because copying the amount of cards in my opponents hand (usually about one card) is not very helpful. Thanks for the input! I appreciate it, and yeah I tired to make Post #1 look decent. The bulleted list makes a world of difference in its appearance.

oh thats right.... I feel dumb I forgot u discard cards in thier hand so they don't have much of a hand..ok so keep the wager and I think the list is pretty solid....

Cool, tell me how things go if you get around to testing it! The heavy hitter of this deck is Ambipom with his second attack. Usually I can use that attack by turn three, and it does 80 damage! Absol is also an instantaneous 40 or 50 damage which can help when you need final hit! I don't think it really needs any other Pokemon for support, but please share what you find out! :thumb:

Does quick ball actually work here?
Barely, that is why it is my top pick for removal when I want to add more cards. It just fills up space, and it can be very helpful. It is nice because it never fails. But, I'll say that there are better options. I am considering replacing one for another TGW and the second for another Strength Charm. Sound good? Thanks!

where do u guys get ur ideas? this looks solid. maybe look into a nm or two?
I get my ideas from looking at different cards, checking out other people decks, and reading through the Single Cards forum for further understanding of the current strategies. I don't need any Night Maintenance in this deck since I already play Time-Space Distortion which is a much better card for this since it doesn't need energy to go back into the deck. It has just the right amount of energy. If I didn't already play the Time-Space Distortions, that would be a great fix! Thanks for your interest and complement! I appreciate it! :thumb:

So... should I take out x2 Quick Ball for +1 Strength Charm, and +1 Team Galactic's Wager?

hey this deck works extremely well with a 2-1-2 line walrien mt its attack forces them to discrad a card and if thety dont prepare for punishments - my findings makes this decks exxtremely good lol]

ull should play it

Tty adding 1 rare candy and 1 DRE it will be used in rare cases but you will need it if you are needing a quick way to get around Empoleon or Gallade sniping you aipom dying and needing the lead or win.

Thanks for sharing your findings! I appreciate it! I'll check that guy out!

you need more wagers
Yeah, I'll add one more. Not sure if I need anymore though.

I don't know about DRE since I play three Crystal Beach. My Pokemon use such low amounts of Energy, I don't think it would be very beneficial. Thanks for the suggestions! :thumb:

and dont play rare candy in a deck with no stage 2s thats just dumb
Yeah...

what about adding in an umbby*
I think Umbreon* works at best in a deck that plays a lot of Super Scoop Ups, which I don't play. But playing that definitely is an option. I just don't want to start with it. If I added that, my bad starts would increase by 5%, not a whole lot, but the Absol starts are important. Thanks for your input! I may play one later if I see it fitting and if I can get one.

I'll update post #1 by removing the Quick Balls.
