Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

whats a useable fun deck to play?

i need help on finding something that is truely fun to play but can also hold its own in a tournament, i havnt had somehting like that since that days of metanite.

does anyone have some ideas to help a brother out? i was thinking of hurricane because its energy damage reminds me of my long lost friend, but i dont know. maybe even infernape.
is there anything left since the rotation that is a lot of fun to play?

thanks to anyone who helps

Infernacatty is always fun.
Ya gotta love drawing insane amounts of cards w/ triple energy draw.

T2 Kricketune is fun.
T2 80 is amazing, although not as amazing as it used to be BUT still nice, and a scary deck to play against cause the opponent knows if they don't have a good hand they are screwed.

T2 Venomoth/Parasect
T2 40, poison and asleep
or T2 50 w/ possibility of poison and asleep when opponent attacks are both extremely good ways to kick off the game.
Both of them being stage 1s makes it a lot easier to recover, and Venomoth makes your opponent think before attacking. It's a very underrated deck IMO AND it can use the fishing engine to counter Absol.

Spinda.dec
Spinda w/ 4 Energy Search for T1 40 along w/ 4 Pluspower and 4 Strength Charm can end the game on T1. You have to have a stage 1 with it and if you don't win early then you may fall apart, but still fun.

Electrode.dec
T2 100, wow. That's all I gotta say. Nobody knows what to combine it with.
I like Spinda. T1 40, T2 100

Donphan-Furret-Jumpluff. Awesome stuff. Gets arserapzord by Magmortar, but can hold its own against most other top-tier decks. Just add Battle Frontier.

If you want to have "fun", don't play these cheap t2 decks. The best games are the ones that last and have meaning in your victory. To achieve this, you need a deck with a solid strategy and late game plan. I always had fun playing HP-on R-Gon. Here is what playing this deck is like:

Delta Search... dual Flygons, on ex, the other regular d!

BOOM Delta Supply

Flygon ex d activated!

Sand Damage strikes! Kapow Kapow Kapow BOOOM!

Psychic Pulse hits the weakness, and their down. Kapow Kapow Kapow!

Snipe. Snipe! "Gahh!", says the opponent.

That deck is a lot of fun. Sniping the bench, heavily hitting the opponents active, extensive searching, and energy acceleration make an awesome deck to play! Now I feel like playing it again!

Winning through quick lucky flips delivers no fufillment. And guess what? A standard R-Gon deck plays no cards that even mention a coin!

thanks for the suggestions everyone!

i know what youre talking about mew*, i still have my metagross dragonite put together and break it out at league now and then.

i played kingdra swarm at last saturdays CC, i had fun with it... if it setup... i had no problems geting pokemon out, but if my opponent go out something big before i had two kingdra out i got whooped, or i was evergy dry worse than i had ever been (3-2).

but what im gettin at is that i liked how it played, i love stage 2 set up decks, thats where its fun.
but the only really good stage two deck thats really good right now is G&G, but a lot of people at my CC's are playing that, so i dont wanna be playing the same as everyone else.

thanks again for ideas, anyone else have some? i would love to hear them.

Thank you for that. I am the exact same way.

Well I never run the metagame decks, at least not on purpose, if i do make one by chance, its because im unaware people know about it lol

but the concept of hurricane is fun to me. Get alot of energies in ur hand and then layith the smack down on them. I mean it means u run the o so popular delcatty, but it seems real fun.

You can play a Flygon d Ex/ Gardy PK/Typhlosion d deck. I just thought of that on the spot but it seems pretty good. Now that I think about it, it seems wicked!

i just thought of another deck. Blaziken PK and Infernape(not level X) 2 Inferns, 2 Blazes. Put one Infern active, Flare Blitz. Next turn you use Firestarter twice and then retreat your current infern for the second one. Flare Blitz. You get the point.

What about Claydol Ex/Gardy PK/Flygon Ex d?

You can also play Feraligatr SW/Infernape Lv. X. Burning head, get nrgy, then use that really cool first attack that Feraligatr has.(Can't remember name)

Ok, here goes nothin'.

A card with Delta search, Delta call or something along those lines(preferably Pinsir d)
Ampharos d
Whatever strong Pokemon you want.
You weren't expecting that, right?

Pretty much, you use your search attack to get ampharos which makes your whole deck delta and then you pull whatever pokemon you want.
You would technically want to use a non-delta strong pokemon otherwise you can forget about Ampharos and just put Pinsir, your delta and something else.

Exactly how did you get to play in the Worlds Championship?

Yep, it's no fun to just copy whatever everyone else is doing. Plus mirror matches are not fun:(

Anyway MegaGatr Might be a fun deck to play, you would get to annoy the heck out of your opponent with drag off+sharp fang kills. If you run a corsola start or something it's defiantely tourny worthy.

Play Hurricane.

I went 4-0 in swiss with it, 3 of my wins against G&G. In top cut, I again played G&G winning the first battle, getting a bad start in the second and loseing, and I got what would have been an amazeing start, but all 3 of my cattys where prized. >_<

Here is the list I used.

4 Totodile mt
2 Croconaw mt
3 Feraligatr mt
1 Feraligatr δ df

3 Skitty pk
3 Delcatty pk

2 Magnemite dp
2 Magneton pk

4 Stantler SW

2 rosanes
1 Mentor
3 Cellio’s Network
3 TV Reporter
1 Copycat

4 Rare Candy
3 Windstorm
1 Night Maintenance
3 quick ball

10 Water
3 DRE
2 Scramble

After playing G&G so much with it, I would add 2 Sableye cg to help out against it. Also if you can fit it 1 more Night Maintenance. Over all the deck did realy well, and I would realy recomend useing it, if you want a good deck thats fun to use... after all, what other deck can do 230dmg. for the last ko?

hmmmm. all very nice suggestions.

pinser and flygon ex could work, especailly since theres so much psychic weak.
but it being an ex really blows, i learned that last week with kingdra.

i was seariously considering megagatr, i think that could work well. and i do love delta.
im assuming with the corsola start i would play a couple of delta and non delta versions of the basics, right?

banette is fun and good, but im more of a stage two kinda guy, i dont like to be rushed very game.
but i did play it at one of my CC's and it was really good. it whoops on G&G like nothing else, they dont even stand a chance. depending on how many G&G i think is going to be used ill use that.

and as i said before, hurricane (i perfer 'Gat-r-dun') is quite a viable option. im going to build a list and try it out. if i like the play style (and i prolly will) ill play that.

thanks again for the advice everyone, if youve got more feel free to throw it my way!

Yep, probably something like this:
2 totodile MT
2 totodile DF
1 chikorita DF
2 chikorita MT

You may even(with the corsola start) consider playing a 1-1 fearow for some extra speed.

I used an Empo/Sally d/Walrein Ex deck and got in through rankings:biggrin:
You're lucky! Stage two decks are usually only successful if they run a setup Pokemon, and only one stage 2 line (sometimes with a 1-0-1 teched line under certain conditions). Stage two decks are the most fun to play IMO, but they are even more fun when they can win. And to win they need some support through a good assistant like Delcatty, Holon's Castform, etc and one solid stage two line.

The Aussie league has no top-notch players and it's just about speed and power, not the metagame.
