Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

rare candy

In the Japanese set there will be, but we'll probally get it in DP4 or DP5. If you want to see what the Japanese are getting, go to Deck Help. It will be stickied on the top.

...

DP4 IS our next set--Great Encounters. Most likely we'll get it reprinted in that set, 'cause what's a stage 2 deck to do otherwise? ((I suppose it COULD be reprinted in the set that comes out at Worlds to maximize the play time, but whatever))

Maybe (And i do say maybe) Stage 2 decks will HAVE to start evolving some time, no?

We have all become so reliant on candies, i would like to see how people would play if they werent an option all of a sudden.

I would say that without Rare Candy, Stage 2 Pokemon would have to become a lot more powerful to be viable. Their Stage 1s would have to be better too in order to survive a turn against Electivire, Magmortar, Blissey, et. al.

Do you know why Stage 2 decks are reliant on Rare Candy? Space? No, far from it.

It's to keep up with stage 1 decks. You want stage 2 pokemon that don't need Rare Candy? Well, you're never seeing anything like Magmortar again, nor Banette, or otherwise stage 2 pokemon are completely worthless.

Not to mention Rare Candy + Scramble allow a player who is losing to make a critical recovery move.

I'd MUCH rather see Rare Candy stay in the format if we get cool non-stage 2 pokemon, don't you? Especially since I know Rare Candy has saved me from losing games SEVERAL times. Stage 1 pokemon of Stage 2 lines aren't ever good enough to be able to actually take a blow from a fully set up (and good) Stage 2 or even a fully evolved stage 1 pokemon. Seriously.

How about a X Candy to level up from Ralts to Gardevoir LV.X? Now we're talking.

...And then you lose out on the truely cool aspect of LV.X pokemon; being able to use the powers and effects of the card under them. We DO get Premiere ball, which lets you search for an LV.X out of either your deck OR Discard pile (Whoa! Options!), so... I don't think LV.X pokemon need much more help, to be quite honest.

Hehehehehehe.... that would be awsome. Just imagine if they made that... but what about the thing about Lv.X's that they can use any attack, :ppowr: or :pbody: on Gardevoir (just as an example here)? How about the attack of ANY Gardevoir ever released? Even Gardevoir ex? The end to all Stage 2s in a Stage 2 Lv.X deck... not to mention Stage 1 Lv.X decks... T1 100 from Torterra... a new revolution of Pokemon... they probally won't make it. It would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo broken. It would be cool if they did though!

An X candy actually wouldn't be broken at all. The X is reliant on what it leveled up from.

For example
I X candy my electabuzz to an Electivire LV X. Electivire now has 1 DECENT attack. Same thing for lucario/infernape/empoleon/magmortar/HONCHKROW/gardevior.

That would be very nice because you cant even candy elekid into normal electrivire.
