I am looking for a starter to add to deck besides ABSOL, Smeargle, Stantler, Sableye CG. I want to run a Quick T2-3 deck but am looking that starter to take it and set me up!!!

If you are trying to make a T2 deck then you shouldn't play a starter. But you got most of them exept for chimecho/chinling and maybe budew to get candys.

So maybe Stantler out of those for LEAD. I was going to run Absolmortar, but I want to run something a little different with Magmortar, But dont know who to add? I love running Magmortar , but I am having a hard tim trying to build something new with him.

I personally like Chingling/Chimecho. First you get some Supporters, then evolve and Confuse your opponent's starter, then Call In for 3 at a time.

Don't forget starters that get you benched pokemon. Corsola, Pachirisu GE, etc.

Jirachi DX and then Swoop! Teleport him? lol

anyways, girafarig actually isn't too bad. its ALMOST like the one tech one in stuart's gardevoir deck. ;P

Mawile CG is an oft-overlooked starter. Mining can get you any Trainer card, including Supporters and Stadiums.

For a T2 deck, however, you don't really need a starter. Just load up on Trainer cards like Quick Ball and Pokedex Handy 910is, as well as Supporters like Holon Mentor/Roseanne's and Celio's/Bebe's.

A few other decent starters are Mawhile (PK), Tauros (CG), Smoochum (DF), Spinda (SW), Sentret (SW), and Mr. Mime (MT). The starter you use largely depends on what deck you are using. Typically, a starter serves a few different functions: drawing additional cards, searching, attacking, stalling, or disruption.

Many starters can draw more cards for you until they get KO'd, examples include Spinda (SW), Lickitung d (DF), and any of the pokemon with the attack Collect.

Searching starters are also common and include the various Call for Family types as well as things like Smergle (SW) which searches for energy.

Attacking starters are basics whose main purpose is to do fast damage, Riolu (DP) is a perfect example of this kind of starter. Other attackers include Farfetchd (SW) and Magmar (MT).

Stalling starters and disruption starters are very similar, but they go about doing their jobs a little differently. Stallers typically have high HP for a basic and some defensive ability to go on top of that. Mr. Mime (MT) or Sableye (CG) would be examples of a staller. The purpose is to slow your opponent's attacks down long enough for you to set up your side.

Disrupters also try and slow your opponent down enough so you can set up before they can. Absol (SW) is currently the best disruptor in the game, but others include Surskit (MT) and anything that can cause Sleep, Confusion, Paralyze, disacrd effects, or energy removal.

I have found Mawile to be very useful. Need a Rare Candy? Mine for it. Need a Celio's? Mining!
Although you don"t really need a starter for a T2 deck.

So why does Bannette run Shuppet CG? I thought they didn't need a starter. I'd consider Shuppet CG to be a weird inverse starter, similar to Absol SW being a weird inverse starter. They both damage your opponent, but wouldn't really set you up unless you're playing a bizarre deck.

People don't think about this one alot but what about Corsola(SW). One :colorless and you get practically all the basics you need out in one shot then he has the energy in his retreat cost. He could work for decks that use multiple pokemon lines.

For states, you're (for the most part) better off with Pachirisu GE ((assuming it's in the set)). 1 colorless energy to look for 3 pokemon, regardless of type. OR 1 colorless energy to discard a tool on the defending pokemon, do extra damage, AND look at their hand for any extra copies of the tool and discard them. All on a 70 HP pokemon. The problem? Fighting Weakness. :/

a quick t2/t3 cannot use a starter, simple as that, it would be easier to rely on a good trainer build than any starter for t2/t3
