Well, I planned to use an Emp deck for states, but my friend desides to basically use my deck, so I am stuck with no emp deck, so what should I play for states instead?
Best choice for states.

Wait for GE and if Claydol is there, use it with a random 4-2-4 line.

are you letting your friend borrow the actual deck(cards) or are you those type of people that cant use a deck anyone else is using?

No, we don't have tons of cards, so when making decks, we rely on each other to get cards for our decks, there's no way we each can have 4 Emp, and 4 Phione... :/
BR: I dunno, I'm not huge about Magkiss, but I guess that or TRUKiss wouldn't be bad... but I also like rambolt.

Claydoll is great if you use it with Mag/Typhlosion.

Claydoll recovers from Absol or TGW better than Catty. You just have to put one card from hand into your deck and draw up to 6.
If you have a second Claydoll then you can do it again ... in Gatr's case you just play what you can, put back 1 or 2 non-energy things that you don't need and draw more. THEN you can play a draw card like TVR or whatever.
Claydoll ignores Battle Frontier so the only good way to stop it is Cess.

It's "Up to 2 cards" that you put on the bottom of the deck. You can use Claydol's power with the single card your draw for your turn if you have a hand of 0 cards after your opponent's turn.

Sure thing Moza but I was relying more on Tego's reports of how the card was actually played in Japan than the translation.

If Claydol does do anything close to its translation it is awesome and deserving of a 1-1 line atleast in some if not most decks. If you think this card is bad you need to go back and read Porygon2 from DS and remember how good it was in that format and then think how much lack of real search/draw we have now and then tell me it still isnt good. If you do that and can say that and actually think it obv. you are gonna make me a little iffy on how good you might or might not be at this game.

There is NO way that is the case. Delcatty supports the deck more then Claydol ever could, for Catty gets energy in the discard to Starter back onto the field. I'd like to see Claydol do that.
As for the best choice for states, considering that you don't have your emp. deck, is there anything else that you might feel comfortable with? If not, I'd say practice with this MagKiss or whatever, since there IS a pretty good amount of time between now and states. As for any ideas on Dragonite ex, I'm afraid I don't know anything that could really synergize with it. =/
