a while ago some junior kid came to a battle roads with a Salamence ex deck. he was really disapointed that he had to take out all of his good cards ("good in 10 and under point of veiw)

On the flip side pokemon being faked is proof that it's popular again.

It's sad that this still happens. I know a place in Little Tokyo LA that sells fake Pokemon boosters. I wonder if the shop owners even know that they are fake? This is why I never buy packs from those "little shops" that sell trinkets and cheep toys.

oh yeah, those shopkeepers know what they sell.

it's not as bad as Bill Watterson, though. (Calvin & Hobbes). The poor guy has to see pirated images of Calvin relieving himself on Ford symbols on way too many cars.

At least we don't have to see Pikachu doing that, for sure!

Yesterday at CC we had 5 fakes in a deck... lighter blue backs and GLOSSY fronts, in this case.

yeah i always see fakes in china town and stuff like that.but they come little boxes with a hole showing the first card.

For like 2 years when I was younger I had this fossil raichu which I thought was great, one day I realised the back was lighter and upon holding it to the light it was really see through! This is one of the main ways I check for fakes along with how flexible they are and if they're miscut.

Sorry you got ripped dude =(

generally i'd find this true yes although you may find that some cards are misprinted rather than fakes (the obvious example being vulpix from the base set having "HP40" instead of"40HP". It's always good to get a second opinion before throwing away potentially useful cards, though I currently have no idea what the policy is on playing with misprinted cards (though they're uncommon nowdays). I presume you just need a reference of the real card.

'Pop, I started writng an article on fake cards a while back. If I could contribute, I'd be willing. I've been surprised recently to see fake cards on ebayUS. We've had them over here some time, but they seem to be spreading. I used to chase up sellers but its tricky, and no one sells fake boxes at the moment, only singles.

I took one seller off ebay, but it cost me :( On the plus side, I do still have a sealed counterfeit box. Its Unseen Forces, not that that matters much because you always get mixed sets in fake packs. They come in plain transparent shrink wrap.

I've long kept a collection of amusing fakes, so these days if someone turns up with fakes I have an excuse to trade them some cards they can actually use in return for them.

I'm really sorry to the OP that his christmas was affected. That sort of story is pretty much the reason I used to hunt ebay fakes.

Talk about amusing fakes... I went down into the Strip District of Pittsburgh one day to get some fish, and saw a little Chinese store with a basket of D&P cards for $1 each. I thought it was too good to be true, as I have bought authentic packs from dollar stores before, but its rare that they have them. So I bought 20 packs, go home, and when I open the first one, I get 6 non holo Charizard EX's in a row, with a crappy light blue backing and a see through front.

Out of the packs, I also got 10 totally blank cards, a fake base set Blastoise, and a digimon. If you're going to make fakes, at least leave out the digimon for god sakes!

Looks like you don't like Digimon.

Even so, there should be a stickied thread talking about fake cards.

Oh no! Now I've spotted them on eBay ! Everyone should report any they find to help stop this. For example, just search salamence ex power on eBay, and a bunch of obvious fakes will appear!

People tend to discuss ebay fakes on the RTC.

I wouldn't recommend reporting them with your main account, or if you do ban those users from bidding on your items.
