The movie was nice. I saw it last night and alot of people were speechless about the ending. So from the fan base point of view they better make a sequel of the movie as you watch the ending you kinda figure that they will. Overall the movie was really good. I guess people kinda mixed up the guy trying to save his wife and the monster killing all of manhatten so thats why alot of people mixed up how the screenplay was written.

people in my theater actually boo'd at the end

i couldnt believe it

i thought it was awesome, JJ arbams always gonna leave you hanging

as for worse movie ever, dont count your chickens before they hatch i think "high school musical 3" will be the worst movie out there lol

I personally thought it was a well-done movie. Slightly overhyped, but that hype is what's getting people interested in it.

So many people were complaining about the ending. The movie was supposed to be a 'documentary' of the people trying to survive the attack, not the monster attacking the city. When the people all died, the movie ended.

brought my girlfriend to see it again tonight, i loved it, she didnt care too much for it

there must be something wrong with me lol

again when the movie was over tonight you heard boo-ing an f bombs, an acouple of "i want my money back"

i cant beleive it lol

I don't think it was ever meant to be a "docoumentary"esq movie. Considering the opening sequence and such, it was never meant to be taken as a documentary. And obviously when they all died, the movie naturally ends since no one else iis left to film. Not saying that's the best ending or anything, but it makes sense.

it makes sense.

thats it! thats what makes it great, that whole time your on the edge of your seat, an your left with that kind of ending. you end up bringing the movie home an thinking of "what if" what if this what if that, the movie lasts hours after ends, you thinking the whole time of who what when where?

SPOILER

did anyone else see something crash into the water at the very end of the movie, where rob an beth are on the ferris wheel, right before the camera turns at them the camera is looking out at the water, did anyone see something come down from the sky an crash in the water, near a ferry?

like a comet or something? just wondering

Uh, dude? You're definately overanalyzing the movie if you're bothering to go that in depth. And you need to work on your sentence structure a bit >.>

I only send the ending makes sense because it is logical; the film is presented (in my opinion) to take place AFTER the events of the movie have expired, where, say, a bunch of military officials or whomever are being presented a briefing on what happened, hence the official-ish begining. Throughout the movie itself, many events are left to be ambiguous. So if you take it as is rather than playing 50 questions with yourself to figure out if there is anything more to it other than what you see, it'd be a lot easier to grasp.

And yes, the little bit at the end of the movie is meant to show the monster first arriving. But of course, no one (in the movie) notices it. And if you really hung around till the very end after the credits are done, you'd have heard one last final garbled message, which vaguely sounded like "it's alive"

SPOILER

^The monster was from the sea, not space.

The thing that fell from the sky was the piece of a japanese satellite. When the japanese went probing for the missing satellite under the sea, they awoke the monster (in addition to Slurpo* searching for new ingredients).

I thought it was a good movie.

Not on par with No Country for Old Men, but still a good movie.

Different and Good movie, not great, but good.
And to sum it up, the main story is a love story with a sci-fi horror set in the background.
