Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Nintendo World Store - Official Pokemon Tournament

As I was explaining to another webmaster last night, the different parts of Pokemon are like different companies.
They each do their own thing, to a certain extent.

I think this is only a small event of 32 players....I went to the store to sign up today and they told me the cut off was 32 players. You should call before traveling far, but then again they might open up the list to more players. Just an FYI.

Having a Pokemon tournament that day is very bad planning, considering the Super Bowl is that day (and the Giants are from NY), not to mention the prereleases. Either way, I wish I lived in NYC now so I could go >.>

oh wow, horrible decision. Same day as the super bowl :-/ And the Giants are in it this year facing probably one of if that the best team in history. I would go any other time, but super bowl>pokemon

This is stupid for Nintendo World's part. I have a Prerelease that day, then Super Bowl afterwards. If they held it around next week or so, I'd go.

If you ask me, it should be an online tourney. Maybe one day there will be? Though I suppose it'd be pretty hard to give out prizes...

Heading in today.

EDIT: And back. The rules of the tournament were horrible. Didn't get there soon enough to register. More details in a few.

EDIT AGAIN: Okay, here are the rules as I remember them. There was a paper, but I handed it off to someone who was in the tourney:

No hold items. (...)
No shiny Pokemon. (Real fair to the competitive chainers.)
No duplicate Pokemon.
No Action Replayed or Gamesharked Pokemon. (Didn't stick around to see the checks.)
No Pokemon with a stat value of over 300 in more than one stat, excluding HP. (...)
Banned Pokemon: All known legendary Pokemon (there was a list), but I believe they did mention Arceus, Darkrai, and Shaymin by name. Forgot if Manaphy was banned, probably was, not sure about Phione. Wobbuffet and Wynaut were NOT banned.

Tournament was conducted 1v1 style, just on the DSes, not through PBR, or at least the first round was. 32 person tournament, all rounds except for the final were three Pokemon per trainer, and 6 Pokemon per trainer in the last round.

EDIT ONCE MORE: Oh. And you could use any Pokemon from level 1 to 100. :p
