Wow, today I went to my pc and organized the cards and such I have sitting around on the desk and low and behold two of my best cards grew legs and walked out of my house....... I had a sealed E3 red cheeks pikachu (approx. $100) and a Stadium Challenge deoxys (approx $200+) go missing from our collection up in our card/computer/game room.:frown: Not more than a week ago I also had a DS pokemon Diamond and a Pearl Version go missing from our house! It has definately been a downer to lose these cards and 2 game carts let me tell you. Geeezzzz if you can't even trust your son's friends in your house what can you do? Not allow him to have friends over? I have now cut off access to him and his friends to our game room as well as I can't afford to lose any more.:frown: Anyone else have luck like this?

yikes: how old are your son's friends? can you talk to their parents, telling them what is missing and asking if the items have mysteriously shown up  in their child's belongings?

*sigh* my sympathies :(

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about theft. Unless your son's friends know the prices of those cards, its doubtful they would pick those specific ones up. I've lost ds games in the past, they are so tiny.

ouch, that really sucks man.

If you want your sons friends to be able to use the games room, I am strongly suggest that the collections must not be accessed in the games room if he have friends over.

Pretty sure your son friends.... who did it.

However, I would not be surprised if your son actually took it and sell it for cash....but i dont think he would betray your relationship...

I would never suspect my son for a second as he has more money than dad does!lol He would never do anything like that as it is "our" collection and he was quite upset when I told him what happened. I will be going to go chat with his friends mother tomorrow as yes he is into pokemon now but until I can get solid evidence I can't blame him as it is just not me to do that. The real bummer part was is the satadium challenge deoxys i just got back in a trade from P_A! Not so worried about the E3 even though it is a great collectors card but the Deoxys is a little harder to come by and was pretty much our best card rarity wise.:frown: Well I hope it can be solved but if not there is very little I can do but not allow non-family members access to our game/card rooms.....

i see...hope the communication with the mother goes all in your favour.

p.s. get on aim asap as i got a thing to talk to you. :)

I test David's new friends that come over for the first time. I will leave something out where they can see it once it was money , one time it was pokemon action figures, and the rest of the times cards. The money was never taken. One kid stole the action figures and two kids stole cards. I called all the parents that these kids play with along with the kids parents. Since then no one has let these kids in their house for anything at anytime. One parent made the kid give his entire collection of cards to us but we didn't take them. So his dad gave them all to the rec. center we used to go to.

I know how you feel...I know one of my brother's former friends was stealing some of my more valuable Yu-Gi-Oh cards, so I kicked his butt mighty good for doing it. Haven't seen him since thankfully...

Excellent plan.

I'll have to remember that down the road.

What a shame :nonono:. But you have great strategy.

Another thing to do is tell them they have to be clapping their hands the whole time they are in your house!lol Makes it a real challenge if they are asking to use your bathroom though...... *I don't hear no clapping!!!!!*

Sadly, we too have had some cards missing, but not in recent years. A neighbor boy took some of my son's cards. Our son suspected his friend. We gently asked the parents if certain cards were now in their son's collection. They were. We got (most) of them back.

We lost (or left in a hotel room) an Emerald gameboy game on a cross country trip along with a pair of shoes. Those things happen.

Leaving things out in the open can be a temptation for someone.

best wishes,

Once I was at league at the Holon Phantoms Pre-Release, I lost my deck (I got back), and all of my trades for the day (5 stars, 15 exs, etc.)

It seems that my three Neo Genesis Slowkings mysteriously disappeared from my "Unlimited deck materials" box, perhaps our former Master Trainers who worked for Wizards might be behind the abduction ... T__T
