A bunch of us have decided to try to organize a real football game, with full 11 on 11 teams (interchangable offense/defense or not if we can get enough people). This will take place at Worlds 08 before the event most likely (we need to find a field - up to the Florida people) and it's open for anyone to join and watch but it'd be better if anyone who wants to play will post here to sign up so we can organize this better. We need to come up with a final time, but most likely it'll be the Wednesday or Thursday before Worlds.

EDIT: If we get enough interest from younger kids, we can hold a seperate game for the kids (touch football), most likely under the age of 13 or 12 or simply if you think you're too small for the big game, you can play in the other one.

We were planning on losing team buying winning team dinner or something just to make it so both teams have something to play for, unless we can get some other prizes planned.

These are the rules so far, but they can change alot:
-12 minute quarters, 60 second play-clock, 120 second time out clock, 5 time outs per team, choose to stop clock or not if ball carrier goes out of bounds
-scoring same as NFL, touchdown 6, xtra point 1, conversion 2, safety 2
-4 downs, blitzes allowed, bump and run is allowed but no interfering with the receivers hands before they catch the ball or it will be pass interference, 10 yard first downs etc
-it will be tackle football, but stopping forward progress (wrapping, positioning a block) will be counted as tackles as refs decide, to make up for the size difference that some people will have
-some of us are gonna have playbooks ready by worlds, if anyone wants to see them before hand just ask someone
-sportsmanship and spirit of the game!

We'll be needing as many refs as possible, and anyone who wants to play is welcome. We'll probably get measuring tape that stretches to 10 yards to work as the chains OR we will use a pre marked field from a high school if we can find one before hand.

Ya If I come hopefully jonathon frezza and alex frezza can play. Hopefully they'll be at worlds. They've also played HS football like I have so if were on the same team our chemistry will be really good.:smile: When I come down to worlds I plan on bringing Adrian (Let Fire Fall), Brandon (Skull Bash), and Adrians brother who would probably jump in as well. So right their thats 6 people including myself. Since this football game is gonna be rugby style I encourage someone to bring a med-kit just incase.

I played DE and OT in high school. I tried out for TE but never did it. Mainly because I did the O + D line. So any of those 3 positions I'll gladly switch off with. I know my boy john frezza was a DB in HS so right off the bat hes your #1 DB if he goes. :cool: As for the other people I'll bring I'll find out their info after seeing this wont be for another 6 months.

Also kant you should ask some of your FLR buddys to see if theirs a FLR HS w/ a football field next to orlando because imo that would save you the most trouble of finding a place to play. I play 11 on 11 once every two weeks with kids from my high school on a saturday at our HS's football field. Also anybody on the teams should be encouraged to where their teams JERSEY! Makes the game more interesting.

GL with getting this done for us at worlds. I'd enjoy it along with everyone else whos interested.
 
At the risk of sounding like a parent, I dont think that tackle football is a great idea. Someone most likely will get hurt with a broken bone or something. I also think that you should make an age limit.

Are there going to be different games for different age groups? Primarily Seniors? Although Seniors can play with Masters, it'd be better to have a whole different game for that age group.

Man...I want to play, but dunno if Ill have the time...

I used to be Starting NoseGuard, Right Tackle, Center, & Tight End in HS....Wish I still had my jersey...
 
I played for my high school football team as a kicker and play soccer, so I couldbe a kicker. If I can go to worlds, I will be game!!!
 
alright, I hear the concerns for the juniors. If we get enough interest, I can host a separate game (touch football most likely) for people under the age of say.. 12.
 
ugh for you scizor^^ soccer is much more better tham football for me^^ but i live in europe so it must be another culture^^
