How are it's match-ups vs magmortar?
Why is it played so much?
Overhyped?

Overpowered?

what do you all think about this type of deck...

IMO I don't like the deck because of its price, overplayed, etc.

Is it over played and over powered? Yes.

A good G&G list with a skilled player can make the matchup against Magmortar 50/50 or better.

The thing that makes GG so good is the flexible game plan. Good GG players can use this to their advantage, while bad GG players don't know where or how to start.

Magmortar is pretty rough because of it's anti-Gallade strategy (sac 3-4 basics while loading up a big 'mortar), but like DarthPika said, a good player can pull out a win.

Magmortar beats standard G&G lists; however, it's possible for G&G to tech specifically for Magmortar to turn it the other way around...

G&G vs Blissey: 90-10
G&G vs Hurricane:70-30
G&G vs Banett: 55-45

With techs, however:

G&G vs Mag: 60-40
G&G vs Blissey: 90-10
G&G vs Hurricane: 70-30
G&G vs Banett: 50-50

This is just a rough estamate, though. Not claiming it to be 100% correct.

mag vs. gg is 60/40 for mag no matter what lists or techs they are playing. in fact, the only gg list i've ever tested against plays battle frontier, mew*, AND lati-lock, and mag still wins every game.

there are way better techs for G&G against Mag than BF, Mew*, or Lati-lock. The fact that you've only tested against one gg list tells me that you can't possibly say that Mag is 60/40 irrespective of the tech/list. That's just blind ignorance.

no. But I think since there are so many great players out in Florida and everyone will be expecting Zach to play Mag, he will find out about some of those better techs at FL states.

honestly, magmortar isnt a deck you should tech against.
its just that kind of deck that can actually deal with it being teched against.
so i think if zach plays mag, then he has a really good chance of t8.(unless he get's forrest prizes)

Um... Blissey can deal with 130 HP Pokemon. Did you know that Blissey adds about 10-20 damage WITHOUT Boost, every turn? And do you REALLY want to KO a Blissey when they might then drop a Scramble and hit for 60 if it previously had no Energy? Plus, T2 Blissey outspeeds G&G, so they are going to have a Blissey up T2, so really, the matchup is like 70-30 or 65-35 in G&G's favour. And in G&G, everything is NOT 130 HP, ever heard of Gardevoir? Benched Starters? Unevolved Ralts? All those things don't have 130 HP, you can't expect to be set up completely when Gardevoir Lv.X goes Active. You can't expect to outspeed it, Holon FF stops Weakness, yeah. It is really 90-10 in G&G's favour.
