Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

A simple proposal for regionals....

People would still play Gallade though. And if you don't also ban Gardy PK it's pretty pointless.

so you want garde banned? Meh. But still, garde will still be strong with Latilock to stop Glaceon so it can use its powers..... Muwahahaha...

IDK. I get the idea, but those are the only cards that can play against a good gatr deck. I think gatr would rip the format just as bad.

I agree 100% with you Jimmy. So many cards that are good are being shut down from seeing any form of play because of Gallade/Magmortar. Darkrai, Electivire, Exploud, Torterra... the list goes on and on. It's only one event, on the same day, across the nation. It'd be interesting to see which decks would pop up and take the gold.

then we would go back to BRs Meta gamet. T2 decks

T2 Banette, T2 Lucario, T2 Blissey, T2 Kricketune. Not much fun either.

dont ban them.... why would we ban cards for being good???? it just makes people think of better ideas to try and counter them... i thought this "X2" was gonna beat em all anyway :)

I disagree. People will play Gallade with or without Gardevoir. And if people didn't play Gallade or Magmortar, they'd play Blissey. There'll always be overpowered cards. Don't think I'm just too lazy to look for other good cards, either.

for sure, im mean, no matter how many cards you ban, there will always be one deck that dominates the format when you only have basically 4 playable sets.

There will always be a few top dominating decks, if you remove mag and gardy you'll find lots of gatr and blissey variants. Then someone will ask for those to be banned, ect.

These cards will NOT be banned. I don't even see the point of this thread.

Are Magmortar and Gardevoir powerful cards? Definitely, no doubt about it.

Are they as broken and common (as in every deck had up to 4 copies) as Sneasal and Slowking back in the Neo days? Heck no.

I'm sorry but their usefulness does not merit them a ban at all. Live and learn to deal with them until they are rotated out. :/

Infinate have excellent points. This thread needs to be locked since you have offically wasted time, Jimmy. I know PUI will not ban Gardes just for your rogues. Your rogues have to match up to the superior Gardes and
you know you used eeveelutions back in 06 and managed to beat alot of LBS - the overplayed deck at that time.
Just call the mods to have this pointless thread locked. Kthxbai.

Ban cards? No. UN-BAN a few maybe like the whole of Legend Maker? (Though I'm not sure that Giant Stump should return)

I had this whole speech ready involving cheese, wine, and sour grapes, but I think you get the point just from this post.

Man, I see this all the time -- people who don't seem willing at all to even entertain an idea that would help our format. Jimmy, I appreciate your view on the format and I respect this thread.

The point is this: if our format is so bad that one of the game's best and most creative players starts making requests for cards to be banned, there's something wrong. I too will admit that a lot of Gatr/Blissey variants will rise to take the top deck spots, which is why I like this:

Ban cards? No. UN-BAN a few maybe like the whole of Legend Maker? (Though I'm not sure that Giant Stump should return)

I said the same thing about Cursed Stone being gone, but I would welcome it, Giant Stump, Banette ex, Mew ex, etc. back into the game. Imagine Empoleon with Cursed Stone against Magmortar, or Speed Ban against GG. I mean, it's true that we're not getting Majestic Dawn until after Regionals, right (I can't even begin to tell you how sick that makes me)? Things aren't going to change until Nationals?!

I know the anti-format views are getting a bit old on the PokeGym right now, but please respond with something more than "stop complaining" or "you've got sour grapes" (though I did think the actual picture of sour grapes to be pretty funny). For a lot of people the format isn't a problem because it's pretty easy to jump into the game with a well-built Mortar or GG deck. For those who have been trying to counter those decks, it's been a pretty tough time. I'm not trying to single anyone out with that comment, because I too know what it's like to fail miserably with a rogue deck and then switch to an archetype and be successful. I'm just saying: support change and it might come.
