Me likes this card lots...

Cuts the already low cost of some grass attack even further... just 2 G needed to power its attack, not like you'll want to risk his health though...

Sceptile and any single Basic :grass: Energy card attached to any of your :grass: Pokémon can go along way. Its Wild Growth :pbody: turns those single basic :grass: Energy cards into :grass::grass: Energy. This helps :grass: Pokémon conserve on their attack costs without additional Energy cards (Sceptile, Torterra) and add to the damage of other Pokémon's attacks (GE Tangrowth's Power Whip, CG Venusaur's Green Blast).

:fire: is still going strong with Magmortar in several meagames and would capitalize on Sceptile's weakness. It should not affect the usefulness of this Pokémon.

Modified: 9/10
Limited: 9/10
Fun: 8/10

only thing working against this card is its hp and that 3 retreat cost.

Tangrowth errata

I thought Tangrowth was errata'ed (along with Exeggutor) to counter the Sceptile Wild Growth bonus? Doesn't Tangrowth now only get 10 damage for each basic grass energy card attached? Venusaur CG wasn't errata'ed though, so it should work.

^Tangrowth and Eggs is errataed so that you can use it with Sceppy.

The best deck with Sceptile is SceppyGrowth (Sceptile + Tangrowth), but it has something about 5-95 in matchup against Magmortar, which makes it pretty useless. And that's really a shame, 'cause it7 would be a really good deck if Magmortar hadn't existed.

Modified: 5/10 - Magmortar eats it, and the Lv.X kills it when it's benched.
Limited: 8/10 - Pulls some other Grass-pokés, and you have a beast.

The card is amazing.
The Poke-body is amazing.
2 (G) Energy for a possible 70 damage attack is amazing.

8/10.

8/10 only because his release to fire, lower HP in this format compared to Blaziken & Swampert and and the 3 retreat cost.

The Poke-Body is the only thing it has going for it. The attack is way too weak. The HP is terrible, and then add that ugly weakness. Bad Retreat Cost. Definitely not a card you'd want in the Active Position. Maybe try it with Tangrowth but NOT Torterra.

If Magmortar wasn't so big, this card might show some potential. I like the body, but the card overall isn't that good. 100HP for a DP stage 2 is awful, and it's attack isn't that good either (50 for 2 isn't unreal now).

This card does look pretty good. However i do agree with most of you, lest it be a last resort you should never attack with the pokemon. 3 RC is horrid, and you have to flip to do 70 damage for 4 energy (2 with his body). 100 HP means he gets toasted easily by anything Fire and Mag Lv.X

8/10 (he would get a 9 if the card would improve, and 10 if Mag was gone)

This card works great with Tangrowth or Eggs. It's only disadvantage is it's Weakness.

The Retreat Cost is acually 2, because of the Body. Is that too bad? No. So, stop complaining, 2 RC is average in this format.

The attack is okay. It costs 2 Energy because of it's Body, and can do 50 - 70 damage, with a coin flip. This can be an annoyer, getting up quicker then those Gard/Lades and hitting them for 50 or 70. However, it's not a very powerful attack. 70 max isn't that great, even for 2 Energy. If it had a second attack, it might be better.

The HP isn't too hot. 100 isn't too good nowadays, the format's made up of 110 and 130 HP boys. If it had 110 HP like Gardevoir, it would see much more play, but... so, this is another weak point.

The Body is the only reason worth playing it. All Grass Energy attached to all of your Grass Pokemon now provides 2 Grass Energy. Nothing more needs to be said.

8/10

Arceus just hit the nail on the head. Scepy's best used as a supporting role for whatever grass Pokemon you have for a heavy hitter (tangrowth, Torterra, CG Venusaur). The HP and high retreat cost bring it down some.

I like this Sceptile. I use it with torterra and it runs very well. My deck can even beat Magmortar so stop complaining. His attack and hp arent the greatest but when I keep him on the bench I can get a torterra set up in 2 turns. 9.9/10

This is a [del]great[/del] perfect if not close to perfect card for modified and unlimited you can make a venasaur deck from base with this card and abouse the effect so you may only need 8 grass energy in a deck :thumb:

I cannot believe that they didn't realize that. my initial reaction was: expensive retreat, but then I realized.

Wailord stalls while sceptile powers up what, tangrowth?

It lacks a relevant attacker - even with this benefit there's currently no grass card that can hold its own against the format. Leafeon won't change that. Not with Sceptile. You couldn't possibly rely on Leafeon to attack because when its KOd there goes your supply + attacker = BAD, and it can't swarm.

Lack of a grass attacker = bad card. At least at the moment. Dragonite ex is probably the most interesting option available but that's just short of being playable what with the modern non-exs being able to go up against older exs.

5/10.
