So yah, i have DSL and a Wii.
How do i get my Wii online?
(i dont have wifi or anything like that, im still wired to my router.)

If your router aint wireless - you cant
if you dont have the Wii lan adapter - you cant

that sums it up for getting the Wii online.

although you can cross your fingers and check for local wifi connection around you from someone else but that wouldnt be right.

I assume the same is true if one has a cable internet connection, correct?

(Hey, it's better than starting a new thread . . .)

It's so stupid how Nintendo handles wifi. They boast about how great the Wii is when you connect it to the internet, but if you don't have the LAN adapter, or a wireless router, you are in the sink and you can't access any of those special things. Wireless routers cost like $40-50 and the LAN adapter costs $30, and isn't even wireless. You have to run a 5 foot ethernet cord (comes with the adapter) from the end of the adapter (plugged into the wii) to your computer. If it doesn't reach? Too bad. If you want it wireless? Too bad.

It's really crummy when you buy a Wii thinking about all the classic games you can play and all the extra online goodies, and then not be able to access any of that stuff.

Thats like saying nintendo has all this great online play and you buy it thinking that, and then you get mad when you don't have any kind of internet.

They made the wii's price cheap for the mass market, if you want to enhance upon your gaming experience go out and spend the necessary money to access the online features.

Yeah, I'm sure it just comes with a standard Ethernet cable, and you buy new ones all over the place. However, I really just recommend going wireless (as long as you know your PPPoE username and password for your DSL).
