i was in CA state on the weekend and seems like every deck had a 2-2 claydol
is it becoming a staple line in every deck?

=I think he's a great card to have in your deck. Every deck? No.
I think his ability to place up to 2 to the bottom of your deck and draw until you have 6 is great. Much like Delcatty is a great tech, so is Claydol.

Claydol doesn't discard. It places cards from your hand on the bottom of your deck. Its awesome.

I'm almost finding this to be true. I think it has to do with how it's poke-power can combo with different decks differently. Like, I just read about a Togekiss deck running Claydol because it could shuffle the energy back into the deck and thin the deck down till it was just energy (hopefully). Then I ran Claydol in my GG because it helped keep the hand fresh and helped against pesky Absol threats. Claydol can work two totally different ways, and I can understand why everyone is throwing it into their deck.

Weren't you the one saying Claydol would have no effect on the format?

Yeps, Claydol is almost mandatory to keep up with the speed and consistency.

It's also "OH EXPLOITABLE" in many ways. Both with deck and against it. Anything that can drag/gust Claydol in can as well change the flow of the game. Take Nidoking SW, take in Claydol, poison it and restrict it from using it's power. Take Palkia.dec and gust Claydol in and start spreading with Empo/Marshtomp. Most deck don't even play any energy to Claydol, so using 2 energies/DRE just to retreat the thing is costly.

Claydol is current meta. Just learn to abuse it - by yourself and from your opponent.

Claydoll is pretty good and he can prevent you from running out of cards from your deck. But late in the game becomes pretty useless unless your opponent playes a TGW.

Claydol is awesome but it hasn't changed the metagame per say. It has helped some decks be a little more competitive by having better draw power but the only Claydol has done is effectively stopped absol and other forms of hand disruption (which besides absol and TWG weren't popular to begin with).

Off the top of my head there isn't anything right now that can counter it, but thats not really a problem. I think as more cards continue to come out some decks will find newer cards better suited for their deck then Claydol. The only true way to have a counter to Claydol is a good bench hitter or a new card that would prevent your opponent from drawing cards during his next turn (or something like that.)

I wouldn't say it totally stops Absol, those cards are still discarded, you get to draw more, but you don't get your lost ones back. If Absol takes your celio/rosannes etc and your good evo out of your starting hand... a Claydol won't get your others out of the deck for sure. It's also fun to discard your opponants Claydol from their starting hand :p *Absol player* heh heh heh
