Next format is going to be so much fun with the release of DP5!!! The set has so many game changing cards, IMO. These are just a few that I think are really good:

Rayquaza
Pixie Lv Xs
Kingdra
Magnezone Lv X
Poli's
Starmie
Luxray
Ryperior Lv X
Deyoxys(s)
Metagross
Jirachi
All of the stadiums/trainers/supporters
Heatran/Heatran LV X

I think that these cards will help to make it so that we can have a larger metagame other than the 2 main decks out there right now (GG/Magmortar). I think that this season has not been the most fun because as others have pointed out as well, the DP-on cards outshine the other 4 sets that also have good cards to build decks with. IMO, when we get DP5, we will have a lot more decks that will be played and actually be good enough to counter each other as well as the BDIFs out right now. Just a thought. What do you all think?

One problem...that is JAPAN's DP5 not ours. We won't get this set till after Worlds. Sure we MIGHT get VERY few of the cards mentioned in the set but for the most part OUR DP5 will be the cards we didnt get in JAPAN's DP3/4...Our DP5 will consist of:

Eeveelutions (including the Lv.Xs)
Legendary Birds
Fossils
Garchomp Lv.X
and more cards to fill into the set

Yea, they'll keep spying on us and think to themselves : Mwahahaha, these fools will keep playing just because they want to wait for a better set in the future!!

Our DP5 will change the format either way. Leafeon-based builds can take on Magmortar thanks to Vappy/Glacy. Glaceon can shut off Gardevoir. Fossils will be a threat to be reconed with. Garchomp will fail as it did the past 9 months. Depending on which promos we get, Empoleon and Infernape might get a revival too.

So yeah.

The New Kingdra is AWESOME, I hope we get it!!!

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

I also hope they bring back Cessation Crystal, or something similar!!!

No more cess, it ruins the game.....

CC makes the game better.

Heatran Lvl. X is not as good as people are hyping it.

I don't think that the metagame will change that much before nationals. Many people used GE cards for states, but most of them still got stuck with decks around Gardy and Magmortar.

Eeveelution decks are nice, but they rely on their Lv.X and get knocked out to fast. Yes, they are played in Japan, but only because the older Eevee stuff is still there.

I like the new fossils, but a straight fossil deck can't compete with current meta decks imho, and fossil tech lines have too many disadventages (no search with Roseanne etc).

Garchomp Lv.X is one of the best cards but I think anyone will expect it to be played and most decks will tech against it. Since it has x2 weakness, Crystal Shard can be used to knock it out for 70 base damage only.

Empoleon and Ape are only some little improvements to the older deck versions, they won't get top tier decks only because of the new cards.

Don't forget Gliscor, the best status condition stall Pokémon ever. ^^

Garchomp will fail as it did the past 9 months.
Just want to mention that I won one City Championship and three States Trophies (1st 2nd and 3rd) with Garchomp, 28-5 for tournament matches at all with Garchomp. To be honest, I really don't know any better deck except for Gardy and Magmortar stuff.

Omastar is going to change this game immensely. I agree that Eeveelutions aren't going to be making much of an impact though.

I love the fact that we can play the 2 new eeveelutions. I love the two on the DS.
But I would kind of hate the Technical Machines if they would make a return like in Japan.
I have never found them usefull because of the fact that most pokemon can take care for themself.
