Hello everyone....

I would personally like to invite you all to attend the FIRST ANNUAL Lafonte Open!!!

We will be hosting a Modified tournement for anyone and everyone who can make it. Check the details below to see if you have what it takes.

5pm Registration
6pm Start

Cost....
$10

Prizes....
Based on number of people Majestic Dawn boosters and other Pokemon memorabilia.

As you can see we are starting the event at 6pm. Therefore we ask that players be over the age of 16 unless accompanied by a parent or adult due to the time the event will likely be ending. This will not be an age seperated event.

This has been something Jason K. and I have been trying to get together for 2 years now. Now that I have a stable location we can actually pull it off!!!

I will also try to get my battle road in the same weekend, if PUI says its OK of course :wink:. It should be a great weekend of pokemon fun.

Jason K. will be organizing a softball game in a nearby park. at 12 pm Saturday, June 7th (Weather permitting). It should be a blast.

We have the commitment of many from the Lafonte nation to come in and support this. It should be a great event with many familiar names... Where better to practice for Nats, than with the best competition in the World!

I'll have to remember not to have my BR weekend that time, then...

If that's gonna happen, two events in 24 hours, I'd be MORE than willing to lend a hand!!! If not, I can always play...
 
This is the biggest unofficial pokemon tournament (hopefully it becomes official with a battle road) since...who knows when. the point is, show up and play with the best players in the universe
 
Probably since Erich's $200 cash tourney at the movie theater (that's a LOOOOOOONG time ago)

Well, you can't post anywhere on the Gym a post whose purpose is to advertise.
Couching it with "here's a line or two on topic and now... here's my ad!" doesn't get past that.
Except in the Tournament forums.
That's what they're here for.
The other forums are for discussion, not advertising.

(And of course, trading and selling, as appropriate in their forums)
 
I hope this goes well. I am anticipating a mid summer classic in St. Louis as well.

Ryan, I did throw 2 $200 top prize events in the old WOTC days, that went VERY well.

PUI has just spoiled everyone with FREE at this point.

Really I did not know that Ross C, Paul J and Tyler N from Washington were going to be there!!!

Cool now someone other then one of them will win a Battle Road this Spring :)
 
Quick update....

We just secured the park for the softball game. It is within walking distance of the park.

Cant wait... ONLY 4 weeks away....

We had 23 players for this event. Not bad for a 6pm start. It was really fun and everyone enjoyed themselves. We are looking into having another one on the weekend of July 19th and 20th. I will be holding my stores 1st annual customer appreciation BBQ!!!

The details will be posted about the next event soon.
