Hey everyone, I was looking through the threads on the gym, and I saw a couple empoleon lists, so I decided to make a version of my own! Here’s the list, it’s fast and hits hard.

Pokemon: 17

3-2-3-1 Empoleon /Empoleon level x
2-2 Claydol
4 Absol

Trainers: 26

4 Celio’s network
4 Rare candy
4 Plus power
3 Roseanne’s research
3 Team galactic’s wager
2 Team galactic’s mars
2 Steven’s advice
2 Night maintenance
2 Warp point

Energy: 17

4 Double rainbow
2 Scramble
9 Water
2 Holon wp

~Strategy~

Start out with absol disrupting there set up. turn 2-3 you should get claydol up and running. Having claydol up will help you get your empoleon's ready to go. Once you get 1-2 empoleons set up start sniping and beating your opponent down. Empoleon level x helps disrupt your opponent with getting rid of some of there hand.

~Pokemon Review~

Empoleon/Empoleon lvl x: The main attacker in the deck, a great dmg spreader, and a solid hitter; can 2 hit everything in the format.

Claydol: The enabler. Helps you get the cards that you need, helps set up and stay consistent even against wager or absol.

Absol: The starter in the deck. The reason I chose absol is because it seems to be very affective for me so far during the format, and I found that it hurts Gardilade a ton when it tries to set up, along with other decks too.

~Match-ups~

Magmorter: 65/35. This should be an easy match-up considering weakness. As long as you get an empoleon set up turn 2-3 you should be fine; you should be able to consistently 1 hit and spread damage.

Blissy variants: 55/45. As long as you get an empoleon set up you can 2 hit there blissys, while they 2-3 hit you. Although the tables can turn when you set up a late empoleon. Also absol helps win this match-up, it destroys there hand, making your opponent struggle to set up a blissy.

G&G: 50/50. This match-up could really go either way, the absol will help you win this match-up immensely discarding all there useful cards. And sniping will help with bring down.

Bannete: 40/60. This match-up is pretty tough, you have to stall with absol by letting a few of them die while setting up an empoleon, then you need to start one hitting bannetes. If you can't get an empoleon turn 2-3 this will be a hard match-up to win.

So there it is, comments and suggestions always welcome, let me know what you guys think.

Flygon999, Thats always an option, but I like the use of Empoleon level x, its power can screw your opponent over sometimes, and its attack is awesome too.

David's confused pokedad, Crystal beach is always a problem against decks that run DRE/Scramble. I thought about it when I was building the deck, but for now I can play around beach.. If not I can tech in Battle Frontier, if Togechomp gets really popular, or the use of delcatty.

Flygon, Thats actually not true, this is just as fast as the fishing engine, except one thing, this is actually consistent, unlike the fishy engine..

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

yo dude i think that u should at least 2 tsd just becuase u are only running one line up of an attacker and it doesn't rebound as fast as something with gardy or a stage one, and then u should max out on wager and then probaly 2 or 3 mars because if u wager then empoleon lv x power it reduces so much poss. for oppenent.

Crazy trader, thanks for the suggestions.. TSD is a good card to add into the deck, but I would need to find space. I already run 2 mars I think thats pretty good..

ICMN, absol doesn't really stall, stall cards serve no purpose.. See absol helps you stop your opponenet from setting up, allowing you to set up faster. And once you get a claydol set up its even quicker. I've seen many versions of empoleon and the most affective so far has been absol starts.

Absol doesn't help you set up, it slows them down to your speed. GG runs it because they're set up once they get a candy a stage 2 and 3 energy on a Ralts. Empo shouldn't run it because you want Prinplup or Empo attacking on turn 2 or 3...which is great against Absol starts because most decks that run it are slow and hide their attackers behind it, so you just Ice Blade whatever they're charging up.

<waits to get slammed with insults as usual>

No one sees the use of absol now a day, if you dont belive me then try it for your self and see what way works better..I dont need a starter that sets me up, cause once I get a claydol set up (which is really easy) then I can just kill my oppoenent with absol.. tell me what you would rather do, get 3 basics then die next turn, or discard there roseannes. and castaway and there left with energy, or rare candy gardi, or there main attacker in the deck.. come on..

I understand Absol completely and it just doesn't go that well with this deck, even with Claydol. Despite what you think, Absol DOES stall, and it works in GG because they can usually OHKO whatever's active as soon as they get a Gallade or Gardy set up, whereas Prinplup or Empo needs to be out for a while to spread damage and set up KOs. And there are games where you probably won't get a Claydol up by turn 3 with Absol (I know, shocker, when you manage to get your 1-1 line up by that time in your GG lol), and that's not good against GG because they will just get a Gallade and mow your board down.

I'm not saying Absol is bad, in fact it's probably the best answer to most of the meta at the moment, but I don't think it belongs in this deck.

<I predicted getting slammed with an insult...I think Prize_card thinks I'm some kind of idiot >

I think DRE is terrible in this. DRE does not do well with bench damage imo. I think your energy should be 4 scramble, 10 water and 3 wp.

Also, I think you should drop the plus powers altogether..they don't go with bench damage. I'd add another Piplup, wager, roseanne's and a stevens.

Something to consider, maybe add a 1/0/1 ampharos line?

I think furret or Pachi would be way better than absol, I mean almost everyone uses claydol now, and claydol pretty much makes your absol worthless. I would rather focus on my setup than HOPING to disrupt my opponents.

Tell me why absol does not fit perfect in this deck.. I only have 2 different basics that I actually use so pachi wouldn't work, I can get claydol t2-3 without supporters so stantler wouldn't work, you don't need a lot to get this deck running so furret wouldnt work.. The only card I see that works better then absol in here is Phione.. How much people here have played against it and ended up scooping t2-3 because they hit everything in ur hand, leaving you 1-2 cards.. Try settingup with that.. Then you swarm emoleons and start spreading and one hitting everything while your opponent is still struggling to set up..

yeah...I'm just gonna let everyone have a go at that. they seem to be making good enough points. Absol's not good for the deck, He can still be a pain when used in the right deck but with something like empoleon I'd rather play something to speed it up rather than try to slow your opponent down.

Fishing engine is in Banette, thats constitant and super fast(it outspeeds every deck out right now)so yea, just Celios and roseannes to search for pokes is very constitantand just using wager/mars to find them from topdecking is working at least 85% of time, just a question.

Not bein mean, but Fishing Engine is consitant, the trainer line has to fit the deck.PLus it works well with Claydol.
