In the game, Mantine, and Gyarados are both Water/Flying, but neither can learn fly. I've seen both "fly", in the anime, but they can't learn the HM. Gyarados is more Dragon anywayz.
Gyarados is extremely weird. I saw someone who taught his Gyarados Roost! I don't know if it's a glitch or a hack but it is crazy.
Garchomp can "fly" by moving incredibly fast; so fast that its wings allow it to hover a few feet off of the ground.
It cannot fly high into the air, hence why it can't learn fly.
It cannot hover off of the ground except when it nears maximum velocity, hence why it doesn't have levitate.
Confusion cleared.
Gyarados is only flying because they wanted an excuse to make him 4x weak to electric and therefore a bit less good in the video games.
Yes, but could you imagine how much better Gyrados would be without the 4x weakness to Electric? It'd be like the major Dragons not being 4x weak to Ice. Gyrados would just be too good as Water/Dragon.What do you mean, Gyarados is still a dominant Pokemon despite the 4x weakness to electric.
