Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Is redshark worth getting?

Why? Does it cost money for you? I only have RedShark 'cause Apprentice doesn't work for me.
It wouldn't hurt to get it incase your opponent doesn't have Apprentice.

I always use redshark... that's probably because I've never tried apprentice. Keep an open mind, and try it... WARNING: the shuffling stinks.

I like Redshark MUCH MUCH MUCH better than apprentice. I tried both at about the same time and it was no contest really. I've never played yu-gi-oh or whatever it is that Apprentice was really developed for and the terminology killed me every time I tried to use it. With Redshark on the other hand eveything is in "Pokemon speak" which was huge for me. I also like the graphics of Shark much better.

The biggest downside to Shark is the Shuffling as z-man mentions. At times that and the shuffling smees to group cards together and not really randomize them well. Also the coin flip seems to give runs sometimes as well.

Note that many people probably downloaded the first version, didn't like it, and have not played the recent versions, which are vastly improved. It has been over a year since the first version I believe, and there have been many releases since then. Of course, there is also still things that need to be done, but remember that this program was built from scratch.

Really, it's not that hard to download it and try it yourself. :p

I think you Apprentice users only hate it because they're not used to it. I started out playing Redshark a lot, and then when I gave Apprentice a shot, I was like "wow.. garbage compared to shark." Then I gave Apprentice a fair shot and tried to get used to it, and now I don't hate it. But anyway, Redshark is way worth the download!

It was MtG but you have the right idea with graveyard but library changes the point of the games

I haven't triend apprientice but i have a friend that greatly likes the programm but my computer cant download it and before WPM's site went down the latest version wasn't up.

OCTGN was nice, but since they used actual card images, it was sort of illegal, and why they shut down.

I do personally like Redshark much better than Apprentice. For starters, you have a program meant and designed for the Pokemon TCG, as opposed to some 90s MTG card simulator. Redshark also makes the game easier to play by having options for different card effects (TGW, Dusk Ball, etc.) and overall I think a better interface. It even has a mode where you can basically play a solitaire 2 person game, meaning you can play against yourself basically and test decks that way. And it still works with Hamachi as well. So yeah, just my thoughts.

Having used both I have found that the current version of RedShark is superior to Apprentice for Pokemon players. The interface is designed for pokemon effects and trainers.

If you have not tried the current version and say it sucks then I know your opinion is invalid.
