Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Heatran Lv.X

i dunno if i can find a scan but here is a rough translation for ya

He has 2 :ppowr:'s, one saying that when a Burn condition is put on a pokemon, when that pokemon levels up, evolves, or de-evolves, the Burn condition is not removed, and each coin flip for that Burn condition is considered a tails, and then it's other :ppowr: says that if you have to discard up too 2 energy cards from a Metal or :fire: type pokemon, you may search your discard pile for up to 2 energy cards and attach them too that pokemon. So Magmortar Lv.X gets a major boost from this new release

with the seeming imminent ascendance of water types heatran lvl x seems to represent the last, best hope to keep fire decks (whther magmortar or the new infernape) at the top. america isnt seeing heatran lvl x for at least 4 months so while i think in the short run fire will take a step back, when this baby comes out we'll see if it can resume it's former bigtime role.

btw, aside from delta species types (raichu d and charizard d) can someone name me a metal pokemon that discards energy as part of it's attack?

hmm, i'm not sure on that one, not alot of Metal pokemon discard energy. I think Dialga may discard energy for Flash Cannon

Magnezone LV X discards :metal: and :lightning to use its attack.

If you could use Heatran and Magnezone to do 80 + Paralyse every turn (attaching the :lightning from your hand), then that could be an amazing deck.

Magnezone doesn't care about Empoleon or Kingdra either.

Yeah, I have one. How about Jirachi. Yikes!

Heatran lv X + Rapidash = good
Heatran lv X + Magmortar (lv X) = good
Heatran lv X + regular Heatran = good
Heatran lv X + base set Charizard = good
Heatran lv X + Magnezone lv X = good
Heatran lv X = amazing card. Plain and simple.

What. Thats good but you don't even include indfernape. so much better than zard.

It only remains to be seen if the Base Set Charizard will come out in SF.
On a side note: In order to function with Base Set Charizard, you must have :metal:and:fire: attached to it or else it does not work much.

With that said, I wonder if it can stack up? It would be great if you could have 2 Heatran LV.X in play. This way, loads of :metal: and :fire: Pokemon that discard their Energy, would be able to do massive damage. (Go Base Set Charizard!)

On the Zone LV.X comment: Though 80+Paralyze is great, it can waste the Energy attachment for your turn since it also requires a :lightning Energy. That way, you should have a Electivire SW on your Bench and move it around, probably wasting a Bench space.

IMHO, I think this card is overhyped for it's great potential and I think this might be one of those few cards that are as good as we think it is.

The Heatran doesn't get back Fire and Metal Energy. It gets back ANY basic energy discarded by your fire or metal pokemon.

Heatran LV.X – Fire – HP120
Level Up

Poke-Body: Heat Metal
Even if your opponent’s Burned Pokemon Evolve, Devolve, or Level Up, the Burn isn’t removed. In between turns, treat all of your opponent’s Burn flips as tails.

Poke-Power: Heat Wave
You can use this Power once at the end of your turn, if this Pokemon is on your Bench. Choose up to 2 Basic Energy cards that were discarded by the attack of your Fire-type or Steel-type Active Pokemon on this turn, and reattach them to that Pokemon.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 4

Wops, my bad. And Heat Wave seems stackable. which is VERY cool...but requires Zone DP or Switch and Warp Point to get the LV.X's out fast.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Rapidash LV.43 – Fire – HP80
Stage 1 – Evolves from Ponyta

Poke-Body: Burning Mane
If this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon and is damaged by an opponent’s attack (even if its HP is reduced to 0), the attacking Pokemon is now Burned.

[C][C] Rear Kick: 30 damage.
[R][R] Leaping Flames: Discard 2 Fire Energy attached to Rapidash, and do 60 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon.

Weakness: Water (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fastest Heatran LV.X combo IMHO.

True it's the fastest but it doesn't seem fast enough and if they get set up 60 won't kill anything and they'll just kill rapadash and heatran will be useless.

Must be the reason that you should pack up on Warp Point,Switch and Warp Energy when playing this combo.

I mean, Rapidash is hard to kill early and early-mid game. It's free retreat is a great bonus and it's Poke-Body is the bomb with Heat LV.X in play.

i will try and tech this into my magnezone/bronzong/electivire deck when it comes out. there's not much room for pokemon, but a 1-1 line could prolly do it, and i could give up two spots easily enough. i also have a jirachi or two in that deck.

everyone so far has been focusing on the first aspect of heatran lvl x, but what about its pokebody? is there a metal type, now or in the near future, capable of inflicting burn status?
