Way ahead, but do you think DP5 will be split?

Everyone knows that DP4 (Moon hunnting, night dashing) was split into two sets for international release, which we all admit was a serious pain in the neck. Maybe this is because the Japanese release was two subsets, and they found it appropriate to do this due to those subsets (excluding the fact that MD has japanese promos). Well, DP5 was also released into two subsets in Japan, so they are taking a liking. Do you all think they will split Dp5 in two sets again? Or will it stay in one set?

I must admit, a 138 card set would be a killer to deal with...

I'm actually kinda expecting to see at least some of DP5 thrown into MD. I think the numbers state that there are about 20 cards unaccounted for. These will either be English first cards, or DP5 cards. Considering that DP5 is HUGE (130+ cards), I'd think that we'll be seeing some version of DP5.

Or reprints a la Power Keepers

I have no special knowledge or anything, but I'm 100% certain that they will split it. First of all it's a big set. But more than that the set after Japan's DP5 has movie related Pokemon in it. They will want to push that set back into the late spring / early summer timeframe to match the movie release.

simultaneous release? That's what they did last time something like this happened (LM).

I really hope not as I already have a box of it for fall BRds and I will be very sad if I have the "wrong" half of the set.

Short answer is no. I dont know if you have realized, but they have released a set in 2 different set in Japan before. It is still considered one set, but released in 2 different boxes. We have more times than not got both sets into 1. 138 cards, is fine with me, everyone is complain about limited card pool and how we need more cards or sets in the format. If you cut a set from 138 to 100 or so, you have now just limited the format by 30 cards. I think that 138-160 card sets are fine, and I welcome them. Finally, and this is the biggest reason I say no, is that if you havent really notice, POP and PCL tries really hard to release a set for Worlds that is very appealing. Look at some of the sets that have been release at worlds run by POP and PCL since they took over.

FRLG - Had Secret Rares
Unseen Forces - Had Secret Rares (Celebi and Unowns)
Crystal Guardians - No Secret Rares, but Crystal Beach, Cessation Crystal, and Windstorm greatly change the format
Mysterious Treasures - Had Secret Rare

They all see to have a Secret Rare atleast, and seem to influence the game hugely if you compared them to any other 4 sets together. Delta Species might give some of them a run for it's money, however that is only because of the trainers.

Sorry Crystal Guardians was released after worlds. In fact the first prerelease for Crystal Guardians was at the 2006 World Championship in Anaheim (that is were I first got my CG cards).

But you are partially correct in what you said, last year DP was released before worlds, that was highly anticipated, but 2006 pre worlds release was Holon Phantom, not so hot. 2005 Pre Worlds release was Emerald, not a good set, and 2004 was Hidden Legend. Maybe you correct if we start with this list with 2007 on only.

Best release (Biggest lasting impact on the Metagame) of 2004 - Team Rocket Returns, 2005 - Delta Species, 2006 - Dragon Frontiers, 2007 - Diamond and Pearl

Naw, I think we'll see a set with 8-9 LVXs.

What's left? Magnezone, Rhyperior, Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie, Mewtwo, Gliscor, Heatran...

What are you talking about? DP5 is the set that will be released at worlds. The sets you have mentioned are what Majestic Dawn is. You need to go back and read what I said. I said worlds sets, menaing sets that were released at worlds also know as Pre-Releases. Just reread my post again and you will see what I said/meant.

8-9 LV X's in a box, and each box comes with 0-1-2 Lv.Xs in them! Yay, that's the ticket! Force them to buy 6-7 boxes to get a complete set!
