What is the recommended amount of spending money to have on you at Nats?

I want to know because my birthday is coming up and I want to know how much of the BDay money to save for Nationals.

I'm telling the guys I'm taking with me to prepare at least $250 for the entire weekend. Reason? 40 for the drive, 60 for the badge, 5 nights hotel stay split evenly, and then food. If you're staying by yourself, raise that to about $500, cuz you're not carpooling and you're not staying with anybody else.

I would go with 500-600. Food is going to cost you if you eat 3 meals plus a bit of snacks and water about 50-60 per day. If you go for 4-5 days that is about 200-300 right there. I would suggest bring about the same 200-300 for spending cash. It is a lot of fun if you can buy something that are interesting to you, and there usually is a lot of things that will.

uuumm he will PROBABLY going with a parent seeing as hes under 18. i think he mens to spend at the booths people are selling things at origins

ummm.....you know you ARE going to orgins gameing expo.

im am droping at least $50 on custom dice from the chessex booth for myself, then food, and other stuff im going to buy (and wont need). i am looking at $400. but they have an ATM there so i wont keep much on me. if i where you, i would make use of the ATM and not risk getting the money stolen.

as for the whole hotel stuff etc...i got a trip so i dont have to worry about that.

ya I am talking about spending for like stuff in the booths, I guess I should have made that clearer.

and ultimatedra, 50$ on dice? How much dice do you get for that much.

I might be able to get 100-200$ if I'm lucky. So is that good?

$100-$150 is great. i just have a thing for dice...im weird like that.

and they prices for custom dice are as such:

10-25 dice: $1.00 each
26-99 dice: $0.75 each
100-199 dice: $0.60 each
200-499 dice: $0.50 each
500-999 dice: $0.42 each

they can put a line graphic or text on the 6 or the 1
just FYI - its only for 16mm six-sided dice.

but yeah...$100-$150 is just fine.

ya, i would say $100-200 is adequate for just games and booths. Bring as much as you are willing to spend is a good rulke of thumb, but try not to go overboard

I spent like 20 bucks or so at the booths last year.
I just bought sleeves and dice.
There's some pretty cool stuff though.

Go to the italian resturant thats right by the convention center. Its called somthing like Bibpo de bepo, and is AMAZEING, well worth the money.

Wow this is a hard to answer question. Ill fill in on what i do each of the 7 years ive been to Origins

Food: $100-$150
Spending money:$100-$200
Other money: $50-$150
At the most i try to carry 400 just in case. I know the exibit hall is big and the stuff to buy is ALOT. Also the food like drew mentioned can go to 3 sqare meals a day so watch for that. In total if you bring between $300-$400 you will be good

^Its Buca di Beppo and it is good eats.

THANK YOU!!! We couldn't remember the name of the place.
How much do you plan on buying? Last year I probably spent $20 on boosters and that was it. If you are interested in other games and stuff you could easily spend a lot more.

Dan, do we have to personally drag you away from the vendor hall? Because oh man.....we will! XD. I plan on bringing around 200 this time around. I didn't spend a whole lot last year, since I don't follow many games, but if I see something I like, I'll grab it.

Knowing you Heather, you'd actually do it! LOL I'll PROBABLY have most of my shopping done on Thursday or Friday anyway...at least I should. *looks for places to hide from Heather  *
