Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Is There Anything To Combine With Leafeon/Sceptile?

Blissey or Tangrowth. Load Energy on one when Leafeon Lv.X is already powered up, then, when Leafeon gets KO'd, you have a back up attacker.

...Dugtrio? Iono, protecting your bench seems more important then anything else here.
Failing that, I GUESS you can use Sunflora (...Won't save you from Maggy, and Empoleon MD can spread damage fast enough to be problematic, but Sunflora helps a lot)

Leafeon's a great offensive weapon. Sceptile's a great supportive tool. You shouldn't need much more for being an offensive powerhouse. *shrug*

Alternative hitter should be useful since the only Pokémon that has a good attack in the deck is Leafeon Lv.X which has only two copies. One Leafeon holo prized means you have no backup hitter.

But most important is something vs LatiLock. Without any techs the deck has lost once Latias and Latios are in play. Sceptile, Espeon and Umbreon are shut off and none of your Pokémon is able to snipe.

Magmortar is not the problem (unless Umbreon is prized or Mag runs Battle Frontier to get your weakness back) since single sniping doesn't hit the deck too much (I already played sceptile decks). If Sceptile is down Leafeon's power can compensate until a new Sceptile is built. Espeon and Umbreon aren't the problem since any opponent can only snipe one of them.

LatiLock is the death matchup and it will be played a lot with MD, only two cards that can be teched into a deck. Unfortunally, there is no really good counter tech you can put in, even Dusknoir doesn't fit very well.

How about no? All it needs is Claydol, Espeon, and Jolteon. Oh, and Call Energy. Four of them.
Jolteon? Think you mean Umbreon. ^^

Tangrowth gives you a strong secondary attacker who works with Sceptile, and also gives you a way to attack when a Leaf is prized and you don't want to risk the other one.

No, no I don't. I mean Jolteon. You could tech Umbreon, but it's entirely unnecessary.

You also need something to counter magmortar

No you don't. Magmortar is pretty much done due to MD. How many Regionals did big bad Magmortar win? One? And how many did Gardy win? Gardevoir is the threat, and you should have an alright matchup VS it anyway.

I built one with Tangrowth, but I haven't got around to testing it much. I'll let you know once I test it a bit.

No way.

Jolteon is kind of useless in Leafeon/Sceptile because it doesn't take adventage of Sceptile and requires you to use Double Rainbow Energy in the deck. It discards energy to attack, something you don't want to have in a deck with Leafeon. In addition to this, it mainly beats Pokémon you have a good matchup to anyway (Water). You also would need Lake Boundary to OHKO any Empoleon, Feraligatr, Togekiss or whatever, and playing this Stadium would be a total selfown without Umbreon in the deck. Jolteon can be a useful tech in a mixed Eeveelutions deck (which runs lots of DRE and Scramble usually), but not in Leafeon/Sceptile.

Umbreon is vital for the deck because it not only makes the matchup to Magmortar and Infernape a lot easier, but also gives free retreat to Leafeon. Umbreon also is useful against Plox since Psychic Lock is not able to 2HKO it with Espeon in play. It can confuse Gardevoir (if you decide to play Scramble Energy) so it's forced to retreat without Teleport. Not the best counter, of course (since there could still be Gallade to strike back), but far better than things like Jolteon (also weak to Gallade but no psychic resistance).

Magmortar will still be around. It's not the same top tier deck it was before MD, but it's a deck you have to prepare for if you want to win a tournament. Of course it has problems with Empoleon, but it has a pretty good matchup against Leafeon decks (or if they don't run Umbreon, autowin matchup). btw Magmorkiss has even won a National Championship.
