Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

umbreon

The body. By far.
An attack that takes 3 energy to do anything? That won't even OHKO Banette without Moonlight Stadium? No thanks...
On the other hand, free retreat for Leafeon LV.Xs? That sounds pretty cool. Weakness is just icing on the cake, if you'll pardon the cliche.

Good luck using it, Ive tried both Espeon and Umbreon, but bench space (and deck space) for pokemon that only help other evees seems to gum up the works a bit. We have dropped both from our evee decks and have just concentrated on the eveesloution that we plan to actually attack with. IF you can make it work fine in your deck then thats great, I think in the long run evees are better of without them.

Umbereon will attack basically for 2(dre and basic or whatever or scramble,)he is for Banette but is for the body first and for most.

You'd have to build the deck around Espy/Umby to warrant attacking with it. But for some reason no one's posted any decks like that yet...they can both use a Scramble quite handily. Granted, you wouldn't want to leave your Umby active for too long since his body is so valuable. If Banette decks are a big presence, maybe, but if not I don't think so.

Umbreon should be a 1 or 2-of in any deck running Eevees. No weakness and free retreat is amazing.

I'm not so sure I'd want to 'waste' an eevee on an Umbreon. I've only got four eevee's and they are precious.

If you are planning on Leafeon + other stuff then Umbreon is a nice bench sitter. I think that he is potentially interesting in other eevee decks but probably not as an attacker. I've toyed with the idea of a Flareon + Umbreon deck but haven't actually built a list or anything.

In addition to NoPoke: Lunasol or Kriketune players will know there's a considerable chance at least one of your basic staples to be prized. In the games where you only get 3 Eevees, using one to do little more than support the other two is a joke.

- Magic (mushrooms: say no) Umbreon.

thanks for ur suggestions i'm playing my deck but thats why i have night mantaince in my deck jsut in case cause say if my umbreon die i u se night mantance plau like rosannes re-search or celies networkor i can use cosmic power to try to get him out u know??

Actually, Umbreon is a tech. You really need it against Magmortar and Garchomp, for example.

If you play against a a deck like Gardevoir or Empoleon, you don't have to play it if you want to save your Eevee slot for something more useful. But it should be at least in the deck, one single slot to significantly raise the matchup against more than one popular deck is something you don't want to miss.

Of course it should only be used to attack if you are cornered and have a Scramble Energy.

what about a DRE?

what about a DRE?
DRE isn't enough to attack. You would have to attach another energy to Umbreon a turn before because you may be forced to attack with Umbreon, that's not worth it (and DRE cuts the damage output even more).

But of course, if you have Leafeon Lv.X in play and your other Eeveelutions already have 3 energy, you can attach it to Umbreon.

You can see how many prizes you have before you attach the Scramble Energy. ^^
And usually, your opponent is in prize adventage if you are cornered and forces to attack with Umbreon.

ya true, but what if we both have the same amopunt does that mean scramble doesnt work???
n should i still have the DRE in my deck in case?

Then you can't attack with Umbreon. ;)

Of course, DRE is great in Eeveelutions, especially for Leafeon (and if you play Jolteon tech, you need DRE anyway).

But if you have a Sceptile in your deck, you don't need DRE.

Sceptile is only useful if you focus on Leafeon and don't have Glaceon or other hitters in your deck.

Normal Eeveelutions decks don't need Sceptile and are much faster without it.

At the prerelease, Umbreon really saved my behind. Thanks to his attacking. I've only got
one, so I've not tried it in a normal game. But I don't have enough to do an eevee deck anyway.
But, if you have something you're using the pokepower for, then it'd be silly to attack with him.
