I think we will probably get 4 lv.Xs again with this set. I think we will get, Magnezone, Rhyperior, Heatran, and Mewtwo. Next set, we can get Gliscor, and the 3 Pixies.

Do you even use any logic or common sense when you post about sets or do you just pick the most random thing to say and decide that is what your going to go with? I am just wondering because every set you do this and most of the times it isnt even close. I am just wondering why you do this.

However, there havent been that many Lv. X that were held for another set. All the Lv. X that were held were released in MD, which was a made up set anyway. I personally dont think they will hold anything back for this one.

Heck YES!!! The KING shall arrive and I will use him for my bidding, lol!!! Kingdra, IMO, is SO Broken!!! I CANT wait to get My hands on 4 of them, that will defenitly be the deck I will play AFTER Worlds, him and Empoleon of course!

Over 140 cards, that is Freaking awesome, I see alot of potential cards(Kingdra, Grumpig, Starmie, Etc.) to make some Awesome Rogues with, this set will Defenitly change the format!!!

Did you notice I used the word, think. Like in, an opinion, or thought? Just like you posting what you think, I post what I think. What is so weird about that? I'm sorry I don't have connections like you Drew, most people don't. So I post my opinion.

PUI is a business. Why would they release 8 lv.Xs in a set when they could release 4 and release 4 more in the next set? Why spill all their marbles now when they could cash them in in the future?

Again, this is just my opinion. Deem it weird if you want.

I'll have to agree with Prime. 8 lv. xs in a set is too many(not for us, for PUI) and I doubt they'll drop them all in one set. While there have been dramatic changes(DS only having 3 EXs), they're usually less then more.

Man, I just got a box of MD...now it'll be hard to pull together money to get another one.

Great, just right to kick off the brand spankin' new season! Finally they are modifying some Technical Machines, and this will be interesting to see if they reprint anything good, even though I think its kind of unlikely. And also, this name is sooooo much better than Majestic Dawn.

This set will be format-warping. Without a doubt. Buck's and Cynthia's are almost auto-include in most decks, along with the TMs...hopefully they'll keep the Japanese ruling that they stay on. Kingdra and Uma* (you heard it here first!) are looking like pretty juicy tier 1 decks already, and there are several other tech pieces for ppl to have fun with. I'm gonna have to go to at least 2 prereleases for this set. While also bringing like 2 or 3 other ppl with me and having them play for me. And maybe buying a box or 2 when it comes out.

*Uma = Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf. Also looking to be very expensive, much like trying to get Uma Thurman in one of your movies. I roxz0rz at naming decks.

Kingdra's gonna pwn the format.

First it was Kingdra from Neo Revelation with its extremely cheap, energy efficient attack, decent HP, no weakness (i think), and the ability to dish great damage for 1 energy.
And of course it saw tons of play at 2002 worlds and previous tournaments.

Now its this one, basically everything above applies to this one too.
And we can PROBABLY expect it to become the new GG popularity wise.
Kingdra+Claydol=Annoying
it's too swarm efficient along with easily being able to dump cards and replenish them with Claydol.

Kingdra isn't that great...you know? For those that don't know what it does, here is the spoiler:

[.] Aqua Stream: Choose any number of Water Energy in your discard pile, show them to your opponent, and do 10 damage for each Energy card. Then, return those Energy to your deck and shuffle your deck.
[W] Dragon Pump: 40 damage. You may discard 2 cards from your hand. If you do, this attack does an additional 20 damage and does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.

It's first attack is very hard to pull off big damage quickly. Kingdra just does 10 damage for each energy too. If decks could discard big amounts of energy a turn, Infernape lv.X would be dominating every tournament.

It's second attack doesn't do enough damage to OHKO anything other than a basic. 40 for W is not bad, but on a stage 2, 40 damage isn't worth building a line to. You can use the second attack to fuel the first attack, but it would take 5-6 turns of discarding 2 water energy a turn just to even pull off a decent Aqua Stream. By that time, Kingdra will be KO'd. What's even worse about Kingdra's attack is that you don't get no extra bench damage if you choose to not discard 2 cards from your hand. You either discard 2 cards (no choice of 1 or 2) and hit 1 pokemon for 20 (not worth it) or don't discard 2 cards and do a measly 40 damage.

I don't see how you can even put this card on the same level as GG where Gardevior lv.X OHKO's anything in the game with the least HP left for PP, and Gallade can OHKO most anything by flipping over all the prizes. No deck in the format can pull off the damage that this deck can for as little resources as it takes it. An early Gardevior lv.X or Gallade can win games. An early Kingdra does what?

Kingdra won a Japanese Battle Road last month, so it's per definition a good card. I agree that it can seem hard to make it work, though. It's a tricky but rewarding deck.

If anyone wants to pull the "but Japan's format is different" argument, feel free to do so. Like all other new cards that have done well in Japan in the past, this new card will do equally good in our format - IMO.

*remembers that time back in August when him and a few other people tried to argue that Blissey was going to be the next top deck in our Modified format, but most people didn't believe it would do well because the "format is different", and that other time when he tried to tell that Blissey wasn't a big, untackable problem after all because Gallade would soon be released, but people doubted Gallade would "work"*

(I'm not trying to be arrogant, I'm merely trying to state the fact that new cards that have done well in Japan will ALWAYS be good in our metagame too)

I'm not trying to say Kingdra is bad per say, but to say that it will be at the same level as GG, I think, is trying to make it sound better than it really is. It has cheap attacks, but so does a lot of stuff now. As long as DRE is in the format, most decks with have 2 energy attacks. With Leafeon lv.X, Togekiss, and Typhlosion/Blaziken, decks have extra energy acceleration. I don't see how much of a difference having 1 energy (and free) attacks will be, especially when the slightly higher cost attacks do a lot more damage.

I have build and playtested the deck and came up with amazing results. the deck is very consistant and can take on alot of the potential decks in the next format, including luxray (most even matchup of all) and azelf/mesprit/uxie (piece of cake matchup)

Legends Awakened is a really neat set name IMO. Might be that LM and HL were my favorite EX series sets, but it's definitely way better than all the other DP names combined.
