This was a combined effort from me and several friends (one of whom will not be mentioned since he is lifebanned).

You are playing against a person in a tournoment using an Eevolution deck. They have all 4 of their Eevee's out, all fully evolved. You are currently facing down 2 Leafeon, an Umbreon, and an Espeon, with their Claydol on the bench.
You drop down Omastar MD to devolve all but their active pokemon, then drop down a Warp Point and send up your Metagross ex PK. Crawdaunt ex their only evolution back into their hand, then use Metagross's power to Admin them and yourself. Then attack.
You just drew 4 Prizes and devolved your opponents entire field, and their was nothing they could remotely do to stop it.

Beware of the Area Effect.
Discuss.

Okay. Let's see here.

Metagross takes... 3 energy? Yes? No DRE or Scramble useable, yes?

You were planning on attacking... How?
You were planning on not getting CRUSHED by Gallade... How? Crystal Beach? Heck, Psychic Lock is a problem while we're at it.

I suppose this works fairly nicely against Eevee-lutions and Beedrill, but... What about basically everything else? Metagross EX was FUN last year with Metagross DX around to have some sort of energy accel, as well as basically no alternatives for hand disruption making it unique. But this year...? Eh... It's really too bad that Metal's been so BADLY gimped this year compared to almost every other type :/

There is this new thing added recently to the game where you can attach an energy every turn to one of your pokemon. I know, it caught me by surprise too.

Who else are you going to power up. Heck, who else would you NEED to power up, since outside of a Godly topdeck no one is surviving an Area Effect scanblast.

Gallade isn't a threat when it becomes a Kirlia/Ralts
Two Omastars and a Warp Point results in the entire field bieng "LOLEVELED" and Metagross gets to Scan your entire deck away.
Plox can be annoying, but basically once they break the Plox, you devo them back to the stone age and laugh. Really, really hard.

If you are really that nuts about the whole energy Accel thing, throw in Altaria EX. With Crawdaunt and Omastar, Magmortar already gets taken down a knotch, so its not like Weakness on Meta or sniping the Altaria is really a worry.
Any deck that has 70 hp or less basics gets ruined when you drop down 1-2 Omastar MD and Scanblast them into oblivion.
So basically, this deck "Fears" Blissey.

I like this concept. Basically, it's to de-evolve with Omastar, do something to disrupt their hand, and then Scanblast their basics? This sounds like a great idea...I mean, every deck plays at least 4 of ther main Pokemon's basic forms usually, and I don't think any of the popular ones can survive a Scan Blast from Metagross EX (Ralts, Eevee, Weedle, Magmar, etc)..

Outside of one great move that requires freedom to use a buttload of powers plus a big hand, an ideal hand, or an already choked-up bench, what else can the deck do? 70 for 3 on a Stage 2 ex?

Well at this point this seems to only be at the idea stage. I think we'll need to see a deck list before
we make any decisions reguarding its viability.

1 Word... Skittles.

Between the Hand disruption and de-evo'ing, I don't think that'll prove to be very effective. The only thing that would help Skittles is the speed of this thing. It seems like this deck would be kind of slow to start, simply be cause Meta can't be given a DRE or scramble. Still, interesting and nice idea, hope it ends up working out.

... Last time, I checked... Ho-Oh can OHKO it with just 4 energy. Metagross can;t ohko it. Ho-Oh has a 50-50 chance of surviving Which is very easy to get, On top of that, Omarstar helps skittles, by getting there togekisses used again. The only thing that hurts it in any form is that omastar gets rid of there Claydol, which disrupts consisancy somewhat..

And from the talk of things, you're bench size is limited QUITE a bit, and Skittles loves big benches to keep itself set up. It's sort of HARD to set up with out a Claydol to assist that, and constantly having your hand changed up. If one has to, they can simply use Omastar for attacking purposes to bring down Ho-Oh's. Not a problem at all.
