Who would win? I am going to use these cards, but which is better. They both have their ups and downs.

DP Version;

Cons: Could take time to power up to do alot of damage.
Pros: Searching Power, Able to do massive amount of damage, Risistance is to Physic

SW Version;

Cons: Limited amount of damage capable, Poke-body(Not bad, but not helpful)
Pros: Easy to charge up, Searching energy power, Opponet Hand disruption.

Which do you say is better I feel DP is better. (And if so, why do alot of people use the SW version?)

I say SW because you can overdrive Darkari Lv.x with it.

SW Version:
It's second attack is almost never used unless your opponent has a large hand. But with the likes of Claydol and such, it's not really a good thing.

Conclusion: It's only role is to support and charge up others. It's free retreat helps with that. Definatly the better 1.

DP Version:
It's first attack is only usefull when you need to sniff out certain cards that help you charge up it's second attack.
It's second attack is a killer, provided that you have enough energy in play. It's HP is a big let down in terms of having the time to sweep.

Conclusion: It's the attacking version of the two. Due to it's low HP, it's fairly limited in what it can do and will only be usefull with Togekiss in a deck with 20 Energy. And thus, this is the worst version.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Overdrive??????
I don't get that. You can't turn a :dark: type in a :dark: type.
Besides, Darkrai remains rather frail with 100HP. It should work together with Weavile SW on the Bench.

You shadow charge to darkari Lv.x, esentialy getting 3 energy a turn on to him. (Provided you have one in your hand each turn.)

How is that overdriving Darkrai?
It just needs 3 energy... although it's sweeping capability's are enhanced, I'd rather charge up Togekiss with Weavile SW in play and Darkrai lv.X on the Bench.
It has the chance to do even more damage than Darkrai and heal itself. The fact that it has 20 or so more HP is also way better.

play both, they work together well. have the SW one charge all of the pokemon, free retreat, and then pwn the opponent with the DP weavile.

Yeah, I'd play both, possibly something like 3-1 SW-DP or something. SW Weavile is just great for 2 free energy attachments with his attack and free retreat, and he can combat Magmotar to a degree as he's a water type. DP Weavile could be a big hitter, but he has rather bad HP (80), and is probably only a one-shot deal before something else comes in to KO him.

I really like the DP one more becuase.

-Though it lacks a pokebody it can really do alot of damage (Both have the same Hp)
-Has Ristance
-Has very nice seaarching power, like that of Sentret and Furret
-Did i say it could do a lot of damage?

The SW has some nice features, but i think i would play 2Dp and 1SW, how about that? Or would i need more?

Use what you want, but SW is superior. The main role is to charge up Darkrai X/Bliss at the beginning and then sit on the bench and make Bliss dark so that it's 20 more for every dark nrg instead of 10. DP is like Bliss late game, but Bliss is better IMO.

Can someone expound on the damage enhancements that dark x and Weavile SW can provide to another Poke. I am using both and Pidgedot that has 2 colorless attacks. So I drop 2 dark energies on Pidgeot his 50 point attack becomes 70 no? What if I put 3 dark energies on Pidgedot would he then do 80? I think so based upon how I interpret Weavile's poke power.

How does special dark energies enter into the equation? I guess they would still boost damage if Weavile SW was in play, but would actualy not benefit from Darkrai Lvl x power correct?

Darkrai's Lv.X body only implies Basic Energy. Special energy would be pointless.

If you have a benched Darkrai X and you decide to put ten basic Darkness energies on your active DP Turtwig (don't ask why, just read) then use Darkness Engage, Turtwig's Energyless attack would do 110 damage (10 base damage + 10 for each of the 10 basic dark energies).

I hope that utterly ludicrous situation cleared any confusion you might have.

Perfect. That situation would be absolutely, well, unlikely.

but a situation that just got answered is inresting. If you use Honchcrow's Dark Gennes and Darkrai Lv.X Darkness Engage, could a Murcro use Honchkrow's expanded attack. No, but i wish!

I love your exampple though.

Thanks, that is good to know, now I know why Blissy would work so well with Darkrai and Weavile. Still while 10 energy seems a bit extreme 4 OR 5 energy seems reasonable and 40 additional points seems very nice ;) It is like a perm plus power.

Thanks for the help.

why you don't combine the sw weavile with the dp weavile and darkrai???

the sw charges darkrai and dp weavile, with the lv x turn the darks basicks into specials and with the dp weavile do a lot of damage in a finish blow. with the first attack of dp weavile you can search a premier ball or other card that can help you in the set up, especially with the LV X.

SW>>>>DP

Weavile DP is to slow to power up, and Blissey is a more viable and competitive choice. Weavile SW can charge up a load of pokémon with darkness energies, and then turn them into darkness Pokémon which gives an attack boost. Chip Off of SW Weavile is also pretty decent. I agree that the first attack of Weavile DP is nice, but also here it exists a superior card for that job: Furret.

So please let the DP Weavile stay in the binder far away from your deck. SW Weavile have potential even though he is hard to involve in the current metagame, but still he is a little playable.
