A week before nationals
I realize that I did not do any play testing and should start decreasing the amount of my deck choices. I ask Richard to come over to my place every night after work if he is free. He manages to come for 2 days. Both which did not help much.
A day before nationals
Me, Richard and Hui Long goes over to Lip Yee’s to play test. We were there at around 2.00pm and like an hour after that Hui Long goes back. We play tested until 11.00 and finally got our deck choices. Not Richard though.
Nationals
I wake up at 7.45, got ready and left at around 8.20. We reached there at about 9.00 and took breakfast. At around 9.20, I head up to the playing hall and well, hang. Soon the rounds start:
Round 1 vs. someguy w/ theme deck variations
I don’t remember this match as he had only 50 sleeves on and the other 10 is like, empty. Lulz. I call the judge over and he says he has to get new sleeves. He bought them and kin hong asked me to start with 4 prizes. I help him take his sleeves out and put in back in the new ones (that was the hard part :/). I won though. LULZ.
1-0
Round 2 vs. Wei Loon w/ flygon d/gardy ex d
I couldn’t get my basics out. He T3 gallade psychic cut ftw.
1-1
Lunch time, I was really afraid at this point. I had to win all my games to be safe. We went to mcdonalds at this point, Dominic was 2-0, Wei Jin 1-1, Daniel 1-1, Malik 2-0 and blabla. We went back up and I played a friendly with dominic…….. and…………….. I lose. :/. haha.
Round 3 vs. Razman or Lazman.. or wtv. w/ manectric/raichu/blablabla
I was so mad I got him as my opponent. He was down 0-2. Just my luck, I had to play the sleeve dude. Well, I sweep through everything.
2-1
Round 4 vs. Yi cai w/ gardy/lade
I t2 lockdown. he can't recover.
3-1
Round 5 vs. Shu Weng w/ Kabutops/Aerodactyl/Ampharos
I get a bad start as he starting with 3 fossils. He gets kabutops and ampharos t3, I can’t do nothing.
Round 6 vs. Robert w/ ended too quick to find out.
I didn’t know what he played, but I won. Ahaha I forgot everything again. :S
I see the list, I’m 12th place. LULZ, sad for me ahaha. Uhh, I laugh at malik but some epic thing happened. :S read jason’s thread for further info.
