Warning - Wait for your opponent to finish their attack

Just a warning for players out there to wait for their opponent to finish their attack effects before proceeding with their turn-actions.

For example, if your opponent attacks with Keen Eye, then tells you to proceed with your turn, it's quite possible that your opponent will watch your actions to see what 2 cards he should take.

For judges, I recommend watching for such tactics. I've seen it happen.
 
Meh, I trust the majority of my opponents. But I will definitely keep that in mind at Nationals.
I usually wait if its something like Keen Eye, but if they are just using CFF and its alright with them if I start my turn then I will.
 
Quick Question: If your opponent does say its your turn after saying Keen Eye but, before searching for cards, wouldn't they end their turn with getting no cards? Just a thought.
 
I just play a wager while their doing keen eye to save them the trouble of grabbing cards.

Why play the wager. Just, show them the card and see if they stop search, grabbing 0 cards instead of two. Then you won't have to play the wager. :wink:

Just kidding. That would be gamesmanship. :nonono:

I have had exactly the opposite problem. My opponent begins their turn before I'm satisfied that I have completed all effects of my attack and prepare myself to obverve what my opponent is doing. I honestly don't believe that my opponent is attempting to gain an advantage by rushing me but, of course, the uber player is able to see the likely progression more easily and quickly than occasional player. Some people I've played against treated anounce attack and end my turn as the same thing. On occasion when the effect of the attack is a forgone conclusion, I still think that I should have the opportunity assess my current situation before my opponent starts taking actions. I know I can probably just say "hold on" and I do but I don't want to stall or even appear to be stalling.

Keen is actually a very good example, I will get value out of the search even if you wager them back into my deck. I can't always keep track of deck contents or prizes so a search can really help. So telling me you're going to wager me before I search and select is no favor.

CFF is similar in that if I'm searching I can't be watching and a T1 search can and probably take a little longer than later game searches.

Now this is something that I really don't know the answer to. If I have 3 of a given card in my deck. I search and find 1. Can I look through my discard before my opponent starts their turn? Can I go through my discard after searching but before selecting? I think that the rules say that either player can look through either discard pile at any time.

But why do that? It's ohh so much more fun to wait, and then see their face as you wager the 2 cards that they JUST got out of their deck and wreck their plans. *evil grin*
