What is the deal with the PTO's in Colorado? We usually get 4 or 5 pre-releases. Now, this time out we only get 2. What is the deal? I called Pete Deshaw personaly to see if i could help out and run 1, and he said he did not want to start another contract. It seems to me that Pete and PUSA dont really want to have that many tournaments in colorado. I have been trying for 2 years to become a PTO or just run a pre-release and i keep getting the run around. "Your player base is not big enough", "your tournament attendance isnt high enough". How many players is enough for a tournament with good turn out? How big does your player base need to be? 30? 40? 50? When i started playing, there was a pre-release for every set in fort collins at marshaks. Now, I practicly have to bribe somebody to come up north for anything. And what about the "Battle Road" tournaments? Only 4 in colorado? There should be 1 in every town that has a league. I now, the prize support sucks. 1 box of cards and 3 victory medal cards(same one we have been getting the last 2 years). Oh, and the best part, Battle Road posters. Thats my favorate part(ya, right)!
I guess it could be worse, we could have no OP at all in colorado.

Wow, um, just wow.

You see that logo that says Professor under your name, this is a great way to try lose it IMO. You are handling this really poorly. I am positive that Pete DeShaw has better things to do then answer phone calls about people complaining about having enough events around them. I think that contacting your PTO is the first step. Second step, is to post in on the Professor Board in a fashion that doesnt draw negative attention to you like your post here does. I dont know any specifics of the problem, but sending a email to POP might also be a decent way to handle it. I however would first contact you PTO before you move to any other steps.

blackdragon1922,
Have you tried contacting your PTO's? Do they know you want help? Try contacting them.

First of all i am not looking for a PTO's help. I dont have a PTO. The closest one is 60+ miles away.

For your information sir, i have not been a stupid proffessor for almost 4 months now. The local PTO is over 60 miles away and, Im sure doesnt want me to become a PTO so i dont steal any of his thunder. This way he has a monopoly on central and norther colorado. As for Pete DeShaw, he has ignored my e-mails for months at a time. I have even had to go to his supervisor to get him to reply. And he keeps changing the rquirements to become a PTO. The guys a joke. And so is this so called Proffessor board. Besides, i can rant and rave all i want here as long as i dont use any profanity. So, there.

You need to reread the prof rules and standards then bc blasting PUI/OP and PTOs are a sure way of ensuring you never get a PTOship and a good way of losing the Prof title. Having a PTO 60 miles away is not horrid.

When we started, there was 1 PTO for all of Tennessee. For the longest time, there was just 1 PTO for all of NC and SC. (And he does a great job of bringing events to the Carolinas)

Bottom line, if the group is there, most PTOs will travel the 60 miles to run a tourney.

You know what, I dont care about being a PTO anymore. PUI has made sure of that. And, i dont care about PUI or POP anymore either. I have given up on PUI. Once the last season is over, then i am done with POP, PUI and all of it.

By the way, lawman, goody for you in the carolina to have such a great PTO. wish they were all like that.

I'm one of Colorado's PTO's and all you had to do was ask me for help and we could have worked something out.

It too bad for your players that you are going to leave them hanging in the wind.
