Many players in Japan are curious about the international Modified format and the structure/organizing of tournaments abroad - they aren't used to Swiss pairings, TOM and other things you might take for granted. Except for the few Japanese players going to Worlds (and it seems to be VERY few this year :frown nobody gets a chance to play using the international Modified format.
So that's why I'm organizing an "international-style tournament" in collaboration with experienced Osaka independent Tournament Organizer "LucarioTAI" on June 29th. ^__^
We're running the tournament using Age-Swiss pairings in TOM, and with the INTL Modified format. I'll be giving out my collection of reverse holos and some prerelease Glaceon/Leafeon sleeves, among other things. But what I don't have much of is non-Japanese promo cards. If anyone on the Pokégym who has some leftover promo cards would be kind enough to give them to this tournament, I am sure the Japanese players attending will be VERY happy.
In fact, ANY leftover tournament prizes are greatly appreciated. I don't have much to offer back, except for perhaps some pictures of happy Japanese players receiving your prizes. This wish goes out to American TOs as well (or especially them, actually - usually American TOs tend to have bigger collections of awesome tournament prizes than European TOs do), I just didn't know which forum to post in. I thought INTL Tournaments & Organized Play would be the most appropriate section for a Japanese tournament.
We're playing using the INTL age groups Juniors, Seniors and Masters, so three winner prizes will be given out. There will be 30 players attending, and Top 4 or less will be run as top cut in each age group. Basically the City Championship structure - this will be the first ever "Osaka City Championships"!
