Just heard that if you leave pkmn on the Ranch and then erase the game they came from, you couldn't get them back. They should've made it like the Pkmn Box Ruby&Saphirre.

pokemon ranch

how does one acquire wiiware without wi-fi? my daughter has a wii and badly wants the new pokemon ranch thingy but we do not currently have a wi fi connection. will pokemon ranch eventually be sold as an over the counter game?

Assuming you have high speed internet (cable, DSL, etc.), you can buy the USB LAN adapter, which will let you hook up your Wii to the internet with an ethernet cable.

I've used this item on the Wii systems here in the office before and it works like a charm, and is basically just plug and play. If you want to restrict your daughter's online access, just remove the adapter from the Wii and stash it somewhere that she can't get to/doesn't know about.

Of course, depending on the location of your modem and the Wii, it may require some rearranging of the house to get everything set up (ah, the beauty of Wi-Fi), but once the game is downloaded you don't really need to connect to the internet for anything but showing off your Ranch to your friends.

Hope this helps.

Hey I found this out

Additionally, each day Hayley will give the player requests for certain Pokémon not in the player's Pokédex to be added to the ranch, along with clues on where to find them in Diamond and Pearl. It has also been confirmed that you can obtain a special Mew and Phione through a trade. Upon fulfilling these requests, the player will gain new items such as a bell that calls the Pokémon to the player. Hayley can also trade certain Pokémon she already has in her possession. Eventually, adding more Pokémon to the ranch unlocks new features to the game and expands the ranch.

tip:

This "game" is not meant to be taken seriously. Like Pokemon Box for Gamecube, this is primarily meant as a
storage utility device for those who have one too many pokemon in their boxes. The only difference is that
this utility happens to be a bit more flashy.

Suffice to say, it does it's role fairly well, especially with it allowing up to 1000 pokemon in it.

... though I'm almost sure Pokemon Box for the GC allowed 1500. But I disgress.
