got a letter in today from;

Dan Morris
4000 Shoreline Court
South San Fransisco, CA 94080

Low and behold in opening it, it was a offer for a renewal to Nintendo power.

is this very unusual? seeing as most renewals come from Nintendo in Redmond, WA.

I'd be weary if I were you. This almost sounds like the phishing attempt that Mike had on his paypal account recently. I'd almost want to call nintendo up about it and find out if the letter is legit. Someone may have gotten a list of addresses and decided to see if they could make money off unsuspecting folks.

yeah, strange.... umm, I'd email Nintnedo or call them. They are very nice and helpful on the phone! Very suspicious. By the way I always found it interesting how both Micorsoft and Nintendo have headquarters in Redmond Washington.

It's to be closer to the Asian front of buisness.

What I thought to for the fact it doesnt say what the free gift is with renewal, nor does it state my Account number either.

Its not even official looking, the return address in which you send back in the prepaid envelope is;

Nintendo Power
PO BOX 5770
Harlan, IA 51593-5270

Apparently we go from California to Iowa.

Nintendo Power was outsourced to Future US, Inc. some time ago. They also handle the official Xbox magazine, a Playstation magazine, a PC gaming magazine, and others. The customer service information on their website is:
Nintendo Power
Customer Care
PO Box 5770
Harlan, IA 51593
Email: [email protected]
Toll-free: 1-866-941-8368

So, it's legit.

^ oh yeah, I forgot that they got a new publisher. Now it makes sense. Back with the old publisher, the renewal letters came in fancy glossy envelopes. I remember getting Zelda and Metroid themed envelopes. They were cool.
