So Im totally outta the loop as far as invites & numbers go. I know nothing as to what the numbers mean or who gets what so I need help...lol
My JR player is now ranked 38th in North America, is this the number that matters & is he outta luck for an invite at this point? How many JR players get an invite, & how many get a trip?
If this is posted elsewhere, sorry. But with Nats going hay wires like it did this weekend & it became an open event, maybe we still have a wing & a prayer for Worlds?? Hey, I can dream ya know!! :biggrin:

Top 25 in each division for north america gets an invite.
Top25juniors in north america
Top25 seniors in north america
Top25 masters in north america.
 
How do you know your rankings after Nationals? The OP website has been unavailable to login to since Sunday.
 
it works. its all been updated. for some reason u cant log in to ur account or at least for me. u cant still check rankings and ratings.
 
LOL!!! i went 8-2 and nothing happened to my place. my rating went up for sure but im still 5th Northamerica juniors.
 
Remember, only count players that are opted in to OP.
Players that haven't opted in can't get an invite.
 
Also, keep in mind that many of the ratings/rankings are _very wrong_.
 
Ok so when everything is updated & corrected, will 1 of you help me figure this out? All I want to know is if there is a possibility he will get an invite. He is Dylibird from MO, JR division ranked #38th right now. I dont know how the pass downs work & all that so Im on pins & needles & just want the correct info for myself! Also, if he does happen to make it, how will we be notified & when, any one know?

IF he stays at 38 he might get an invite. In N. America the Top 25 get invites in each age group plus the Top 8 in finishers in US Nationals and the T4 finishers in both Canada and Mexico. So that is 8+4+4 for a possibility of 16 Spots that could be handed down to Rankings Invites. (If a player with an automatic invite is in the top 25, then an invite gets handed to the person in 26th place and so on.) So it all depends on how many players with Automatic invites are in the top 25 for your age group.

Lets assume that your Son remains in 38th place (That could change as Canada has not yet had their Nationals) IF all 16 players with auto invites from the Three Nationals in N. America end up in the T25 then invites will fall 16 spaces so 25+16= 41. And your son will get an invite. But if only 12 of them end up in the Top 25 then 25+12= 37 And your son will not get an invite to Worlds.

So your son is on the bubble and you will not have a definitive answer until the Canadian National Championship is completed and the results uploaded. I wish him luck I hope he gets in. If not there is always the Grinder, it is a lot of fun to play in too.
 
THANKS SO MUCH JandPDS! I can understand it better when its in writting, but telling me, I was lost! So now its a sit & wait....OMG, im SO NOT a patient person & the World knows this...lol

As far as the Grinder goes, were not going to take the chance. He got a pd invite back in 05 was it when it was in San Diego & we just made that our Family Vaction. My 2 other kids were able to grind in & play also so that was even nicer at the time! Unfortunitly, things are different this go around & that wont be possible. If it was, we would be able to kill 2 birds w/1 stone because we have a free family pass to Disney waiting for us. My husbands Aunt works there so she has tickets for us but we havent been able to go yet. So it would be nice to be able to go to the Grinder, but I dont see it happening! :frown:

You realize that of he does qualify for Worlds, It is just that a qualification. IF he gets into Worlds at
38th place, he will be able to play in Worlds, but you will still have to get him there yourself. Last year Rankings invites came with trips but this season there is not trip attatched to it like last year. The only people who got trips with the invites were the Top 4 finishers at Nationals. So if you are unable to go to the Ginder, getting a ranking invite wont help your situation any more I am afraid. He still did awsome this year you should be very very proud.
 
Ya, I know how that part works. It would just make it easier to "find" the money to send him, thats all! Its a tough call at this point! Having an Aunt who lives there & works at Disney doesnt make things any easier either...lol We have an open family pack we can use at any time to go to Disney so this could have been that kill 2 birds w/1 stone deal! Ahhh, being a parent is sooo hard!
 
Does anyone know how Emmanuel D. did in Masters? I've been hearing a mix of 5-4 and 4-5.

Anyone know were my Dylibird sits at this point besides on the fence? lol I dont know how to figure it out! Im dying over here!

Ok, I just logged into go-pokemon & see his rankings have changed but dont know when it changed & why??
He was 35th- now hes 36th, 38-39, 50-51, & 186-190...<----this one is Globally & all ages. How would it have jumped?? Anyone?
