4th of July, What really Matters

I know we have many different countries represent here on pokegym and not all of them are familiar with the United States traditions, for us the 4th July represent the birth of our country and many people also associate the 4th of July with Freedom, so to all Americans as you enjoy your 4th of July take time to remember the sacrafices all of our men and women in uniform make. Becuase,

You are safe becuase a Soldier is not

You can be with your family becuase a Soldier can't

You are alive becuase a Soldier made the Ultimate Sacrafice

No matter what your personal feelings are its important to remember the sacrafice so many people have made and even if you don't support the war, Support the men and women who are fighting it.

I ask that anyone has anything to add please post, along with anyone who is or knows someone who is or has served in our military please post any well wishs or thoughts.

Please be Safe & have a HAPPY 4th of July! Remember its not you we worry about, its others we worry about who dont worry about you!!

We have 2 close friends over in Iraq right now serving...

Yeah, I too have a friend I grew up with who was just recently deployed overseas with the marines. Whether your having a big party, or hanging around all day, I think its still important to take time and remember those here, and overseas fighting for us.
 
My step brother gave his life in Iraq to make our WORLD a better place.

I hope everyone had a great 4th. This was my first in a state where fireworks are legal. Hooray for flying sparks!
 
Not that I'm ungrateful for all the soldiers that have made sacrifices for our freedom, but I believe that if humans didn't go and kill others over extremely stupid reasons (land, money, power, etc.) then there would be no sacrifing for freedom in the first place ;x

July 4th is sort of a bittersweet holiday to me.

Just a thought, though.

In a sence your right, but the problem is people believe different things. Its your belief that defines you and what you do with your life. All of the wars that have ever happened have happened because of greed or beliefs. Thats the way it has been, and until the end of time, it will always be that way.

Same here.

I really don't understand why people have to fight over things stated above. I also don't understand why we think that war is the only solution. I understand that sometimes it has to be done, but I still don't get it. I mean, I'm mad at you, ur mad at me. We fight. I kill you, you kill me. Who has really won?

I thank all the men and women out there fighting for our freedom. You are all in my prayers.
