Base-Set Charizard going up?

Base Set Charizard has already been reprinted twice in Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection and I don't think it has ever hurt its value.
 
Oh, so they are really reprinting it? Cool. Anyway...

it isn't even playable (watch me be wrong :lol:), so I don't see why many people would pay extra for it. I think it is just meant to be a collectors piece... because it was bad even back then!
 
Actually, I heard Charizard Base was actually a Good tech into any deck back then, because of its Power!
 
But can you actually play Glurak from BASE when the one from DP6 will come out?
Because the new one has a BODY now !!!
 
The new one won't be bad in unlimited format, because it reads "energy" instead of "energy cards" now, so you could use Double Colorless Energy to power it quickly.
 
The value will actually drop. Usually reprints of a card will drop the value of the original. Just look at Yu-Gi-Oh and how a $50 Ultra-Rare in one set will drop by over half when the same card is printed as a regular Rare or common just 2 sets later.

You mean for the discard? Interesting.

mca3: Char was never a good tech. No one, and I mean no one used it that way.

However, in today's format, it just might work.
Use something to energy accellerate like Togekiss or Leafeon X and you can do 100 every turn.
 
Well I mean will the price increase for the sort time since it will be playable with a minor text change?
If it ends up being good people won't care if its old or new.
 
^ oh no man, people always want the newer version of reprinted cards. Just look at the sales of old trainer cards that were reprinted vs. the new versions (even if they have the same artwork and all), people just want the new version to be on the safe side. So they do care.

it may 2 stage twos, and needing to get the lvx, but leafys a good card in itself.
I think most of us players have the old charizards anyway.
 
Blastoise back then couldn't fuel it, so what decks would fuel it well? The only case it might have potential would be in a very weird Wigglytuff build or something with 4 DCE.

I don't understand why it is better than Moltres? Yeh, its energy conversion is cool but not cool enough in my opinion. The only combo I would ever use it for would be with Weavile and Darkrai LvX. Attach basic darkness energies with Weavile, Charizard can still use them for fire spin, but can reach the 120-140 regions to KO things in one hit.

While trying to not going too far off subject, I am almost positive that it wouldn't work like that.

  • Weavile searches out two basic :darkness: and attaches to Charizard, no problem yet.
  • Charizard's poké-body means that these provide :fire: instead.
  • Even though the basic energies no longer provide :darkness: but :fire: instead, the name of the card is still "basic darkness energy" which is Darkrai LvX's poké-body's criteria, not what type they are providing.
  • The +10 text is added to the basic darkness energies which are providing :fire:.
 
I think the price will stay the same, It's going to be at least as rare as a lv X, most likely as rare as tsd

is it a 1st edition. if it is then it is only getting more expensive. becaus there was only a set amount of base set 1st edition charizards printed. they sell on ebay for like 150$ their are collectors item as well as anyother ist edition base set holographic card.

Name? What name? Basic energy cards have no name. They have a color.
So, if you change it's color..... you change it's color.
