T2 Scizor IFDS?

Ultima

I was looking through the spoilers, and this came up:

Scizor LV.47 – Grass – HP100
Stage 1 – Evolves from Scyther

Poke-Body: Honeycomb Defender
If this Pokemon has 6 or more damage counters on it, any damage done to this Pokémon by attacks is reduced by 40.

[C][C] Accelerate: 30 damage. If the Defending Pokemon is Knocked Out by this attack, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to Scizor during your opponent’s next turn.
[G][G] Push Through: 40 damage. If you don’t have any Pokemon with Poke-Powers in play, this attack does an additional 30 damage.

Weakness: Fire (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Obviously, not being able to use powers hurts, but the potential for a consistent T2 70 is definitely there.
Anyone think this is workable?

I like it! Seems to be a Good idea to me, this is one of the cards I had my eye on making a deck with, T2 doesnt seem TOO shabby!!!

it looks good with the shaymin x so you get more use out of the pokebody.

the body is horrible otherwise. what pokemon can't do 80 to ko the scizor when it only has 40 hp left? seriously...

Most pokemon won't be hitting it for exactly 60 damage too, so most likely he will either be OHKO'd (without Shaymin X on the field), or he will have around 20HP left. Then all the opponent has to do is 60 damage. Yeah, not the brightest Poke-Body. Better than nothing though!

Its decent for a T2,but after a few turns then it just dies to quickly, especially with some Heatran X coming and other Fire pokes being playable. I like Steelix so much better.

Good, fast card for non-PP decks. I like it, plus it goes well with a tech'd MD Scizor (if Specials are pervasive in the new format). Too bad it's not a Metal type Pokemon. Now THAT would be awesome!

it jumped out at me from the translations too.

shaymin X...beautiful

and the reprint of great ball and the new luxury ball help out the T2 aspect of the deck.
getting by without powers isn't too hard since you're only seeting up a stage 1

Not to mention we essentially get Jungle Scyther back in that same set. Except easier energy costs.

Sounds like a fun time for grass...

So theoretically, you could have the following lines:

4-3-1 Scizor IFDS/MD
2-2 Shaymin/Shaymin X
And a possible Type Coverage Tech.

If you like T2 I suggest Hourdoom. Amazing body that work with T2 deck and it FIRE lol. Grass seem to be big in the next few set.

Scizor may not have the same raw power as Houndoom, but it doesn't waste as much energy, and with Shaymin X it has a lot more Survivability. Plus, Empoleon will probably hose down any fire types that try to establish themself in the metagame. Did I mention the risk of having a small bench size?

First of all , you have to think that it is Dp-on and with that said , there will be no scramble/DRE so Empoleon cant keep up with Houndoom. Second , Houndoom with LB will destory Scizor even with SHaymin X. Third , Houndoom can do so much for 1 energy that it really doesnt need to use it second attack that much. 1 for 60 equal 120 for grass.....

scizor: good for dp-on?

I love scizor. It has fast attacks and in november we get another scizor so it has type variation. However, is md scizor's first attack still good? 30 damage for 1 is good, but will I ever be able to use it against pokemon with special energy in dp-on? Call energy is the only energy played. Of course it works on metal and dark, but those types aren't really popular right now.

So, will scizor's 2nd attack help at all?

I don't know what calculations you're using, but Houndoom can only max at 100 Damage, with +20 for weakness. 120<140 IIRC.

And this isn't just about those select decks. In the grander Scheme of things, You're weak to more potential Decks (Kingdra?), and and Scizor is more Durable overall.

There's better ways to abuse Shaymin. Shaymin doesnt really even help w/Scizors body, it works the opposite way rly, though 140HP is obv nice. Problem with Scizor is it just lacks raw damage potential. That early 70 will become inneffective very fast. It may be good, I dunno. Try it out and see how if it can stand up to the bigger threats. I'm a little skeptical though tbh.

Well for one energy it does 20 and if you have fewer pkmn it does 40+. That a total of 60 and with Lake B in place , you are doing 120. Remember Scizor cant really work with Shaymin X due to Scizor's body. Kingdra will be big , but i dont see kingdra being big in the long run.
