eBay is a Scam According to PayPal

Ok, so yesterday I was doing a lot of eBay searches and the night before that I downloaded this PayPal Firefox add-on from the official PayPal site that let you use PayPal on ANY site even if they don't accept it as a payment option... well that sounded pretty good so I installed... but then some weird stuff happened...

I got this popup on the browsing area of Firefox(zoom in to read it clearly) just a couple seconds after I did an eBay search and after I switched tabs to the Pokegym page. So when I first saw the popup, I thought it was saying Pokegym was a scam, and I was laughing... it was just so random.

But then later I switched back over to the eBay page where I had done the search before switching over to the Pokegym tab... and it turns out it wasn't reporting Pokegym, PAYPAL WAS REPORTING EBAY! And it turns out that that popup displays in all tabs... but that weird red warning alert stuff doesn't and notice the little dialog box that showed up when I moused over the red part.

I found this really funny how PayPal would say eBay is a scam site when it is OWNED by eBay!
This strange error occurred several more times thought the day on eBay, and I'm CERTAIN I was on the real eBay site every time.

Has this happened to any of you guys that use the add-on? I've disabled the add-on for now since it is so strange and annoying. (also note that I never took the time to configure the add-on)... but isn't that funny how that happened?

not sure. maybe it was trying to link you to a fake paypal.
i use paypal all the time and every time I get a refund if the item doesn't come.

Oh, no, it linked to the real PayPal site via clicking the "More Information" text.... but it didn't give me any more information, it just let me to a log in screen which led me to the standard homepage that shows recent activity and my balance .

Sound kind of strange I don't know about you but I would go in though the old way you did paypal and change my password quickly. I'd also report it to Ebay just incase they have gotten other telling them the same. There are a lot of scammers out there who can piggy back on the site and you think it's real.
