Machamp Base 1st Edition Error

When I first started collecting, I had a Machamp 1st edition from the base box set, but without the 1st edition stamp

I traded the card, but as time went on I regretted it as i'm sure i've not heard about this error before

would the card be worth alot? I have no chance of getting it back probably now

Wow, was it still sealed in the plastic?

I never heard of this error though, so it was either really rare or a fake card.

Quite possibly Base set 2 card which came non-first edition.

Were there any 1st edition Base2 cards? I don't remember seeing any.
No there weren't any.

And I don't remember seeing Machamp in Base Set 2... but I'll have to look that up to be certain.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

After searching eBay, all the English Machamps were 1st Editions from the first Base Set and there is no Base Set 2 Machamp. Only the Japanese ones were Unlimited since they didn't have 1st edition back then. I don't know about other languages. Maybe your Machamp was a different language and you didn't know it? That is the only other scenario I can think of.

But I learned one interesting thing. I never knew that there were Shadowless 1st Edition Machamps! Found that to be pretty cool.

One other scenario you may consider. I went on a caribean trip in 2001 and came back with some very, very convincing fakes. Any chance that may be what we're talking about here?

And yes, I have both a shadowed and shadowless 1st ed. Machamp.

Trainer Deck A Machamps have no 1st Ed stamp.
But they are not holo, either.
And have a red border on the back.
Not likely for it to be that.
