Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Got 4 Empeleons and a couple omastars

now i am like omg it's time for me net deck an empoleon deck!

Since I am kinda noob where can I find the decklists for the last national championships?
Does the empoleon deck want to run rare candy?
I already have a good assortment of roseanne's research, and stuff like that.

I just drafted a couple of times and now it looks like I'm ready to build a serious water deck!

also I really really like absol.

Is there a good way to fuse a water and a dark deck other than using sharpeedo?

1. You can find decklists by searching around the deck help section.

2. Yes, Empoleon should have Rare Candy.

3. Weavile SW is a water type with a dark attack and dark-related Pokepower. You should check it out.

Here is an Empostar decklist in the current format (HP-on).

4 piplup dp
2 prinplup dp
3 empoleon md
1 empoleon lv.x
1 omanyte md
2 omastar md
2 baltoy ge
2 claydol ge
1 phione md (ew)
1 mew*d
1 absol ex
1 holon castform

2 helix fossil
1 bebe search
4 celio network
3 roseanne research
2 steven advice
3 team galactic wager
4 rare candy
2 night maintainence
2 warp point
1 windstorm

8 water energy
4 call energy
2 scramble energy
1 double rainbow energy

Without a decklist and strategy in the initial post, this thread doesn't fit the Deck Help and Strategy Forum formatting rules. However, it's a reasonable question, so we'll move it to the single card and strategy forum.

hmm... my take and some questions

why 4 rare candies? the only pokemon that can use it is piplup turning into empoleon.

also if a player devolves empoleon lv x does it turn back to prinplup or does it turn back to empoleon (if we assume that it was evolutioned normally)

also no fossil excavators?

why only 1 absol and why not 2?
what is mew doing there? and what is the castform doing in this deck?

4 call energy? that seems extreme why not just run like 4 pachirisu?

if i run absol well... maybe there's some dark i can run in this? I really think dark has a lot of powerful stuff and I'd like to use some of it.

anybody know of anything that works good with the whole empoleon spread damage thing?

Here's my build, which I find to be much more consistant.

Pokemon 25

3-2-3-1 Empoleon MD/Lv.X
2-1-2 Omastar MD (I count helix as a pokemon)
1-0-1 Alakazam MT(answer to lack of Cess in this deck)
4 Phione MD
2-2 Claydol GE
1 Mew d *

Trainers 20

3 Bebe's Search
2 Fossil Excavator
3 Roseanne's Research
4 Steven's Advice
2 Team Galactic's Wager
4 Rare Candy
2 Warp Point

Energy 15
4 Call
2 Scramble
1 Double Rainbow
8 Water Energy

Odd version, but it's better than keeping yourself in constant power lock via Cess. It's worked for me, if you don't like it, oh well tryin to help.

Omastar uses it too. 4 is for consistency - so that you are more likely to have it when you need it.

It devolves to Prinplup.

also no fossil excavators?

Not needed, really. You will only use Omastar as a surprise once a game, usually.

why only 1 absol and why not 2?

It's Absol EX, Only useful for its power. You don't want too many of them taking up bench space, but it is useful for a quick KO by moving damage around.
what is mew doing there? and what is the castform doing in this deck?

Mew* can be used to copy the attacks of Pokemon like Gallade. Holon's Castform is a way of giving it the Energy it needs to do this.

4 call energy? that seems extreme why not just run like 4 pachirisu?

Again, it's consistency. Pachi can clog the hand and is useless mid to late game. Energy can always be used to power attacks.

Hmmm . . . running two Energy types sometimes slows the deck down. Plus I can't think of any Dark Pokemon that are that good. Not ones that go with Empoleon anyway.

anybody know of anything that works good with the whole empoleon spread damage thing?

Bronzong MD, Ampharos SW, Aerodactyl MD, Octillery MT . . . they are all worth trying.
