Espeon on a Yugioh card?

the copyright data on the magestic dawn espeon will be in relation to when the card was printed
espeon as a pokemon would of been copyrighted when the pokemon where all confirmed for the gold/silver gameboy games
ruby carbuncle would of only been created in the last couple of years(unless ofcourse they have been sat on the design for like forever) i suspect the date on the yugioh card is for the entire copyright of the yugioh cards('96 in this case) and that covers everything printed regardless of when it was created however i'm not an expert on copyright law

Regardless, the copyright on Yugioh cards is the copyright for the whole Yugioh universe itself. The card's copyright is whatever year the set came out.

I just wikipedied both guys, and its 2000 with espeon (or 1999 if you go with Japan) vs. 2007 (or whatever year with Japan) for ruby guy...yup.

Yeah, we know that, but we are discussing the fact that at the bottom of all Yugioh cards, it has "(C) 1996."

All pokemon cards have that too. Thats when the game was first made. Pokemon has 1995, so even if thats how copyrights worked (though it isn't), pokemon still wins.

Guys, watch the TV show. This "Espeon copy" is much smaller than the actual Espeon. Who cares? Really... even if this is a copy of Espeon, why should we all care? Let the companies that made the cards care... not us.

No, Pokemon cards have the year it was printed on the bottom. I.e. Rampardos says (C)2007 Nintendo on the bottom.

Its slightly different... It has a crystal on its tail and Espeon has 2 ears and two turned ones, not four facing forward. The Yugioh version is much fatter.

Its still remarkably close though <_>

The copyright date on the card outdates the creation of Espeon (I Believe). So that means if anything, we TOOK Espeon from them!! But of course, that's only if I'm right about the copyright date.... Please God no.

That is not the copyright date for the Yugioh crystal beasts... they were made 2007-2008..... We had it first!

alot of the newer pokemon cards are now printed with year they were printed on it would seem however it always used to be (C) pokemon 1995-xxxx(what ever year set was printed in) dont ask me when they stopped doing it that would require getting the folders out ;)
