Ummm . . . what the heck? Which one is better: Foil Glaceon/Leafeon or non-foil Glaceon/Leafeon? Really, any idiot can properly answer that in the time it takes to click the link. At least choose two somewhat equally powerful cards or something.

What's next, Mom's Kindness squaring off against Bill? Gust of Wind in a battle to the death against Pokemon Reversal? Pokemon Center in a twin/eviltwin duel against Night Pokemon Center?

Come on, man! It's a great idea, but not if you're gonna waste our time with absurdly obvious questions. Give us some delicious debate material, not a fresh batch of Whatevah pie! Please!

It gives people something to do. I liked READING their responses, I guess. I like reading about cards, I guess.

You honestly can't say that you would rather debate the difference or which is better, lima beans or lemon pie, rather than something that can actually compete with each other.
 
I don't want to be a mod. I can't anyways, I have too many infractions. I am being frank, it didn't suck with those card review things. I liked reading them, okay? That is my opinion, don't bash it.
 
well guys, I think it gets stale with just a single CotD. This gives it some new air, and allows for a debate. I personally like this idea.

I think that what we are debating about viable stuff in this last CotD thread, seriously, each have their own opinions about each card, each thinking that they are good in their own way, therefore they post their opinions

ya, but when you debate a really good card and a not so good card, I think the debate is pretty one-sided

maybe make a debate of Garde vs. Gallade or Evelutions vs. Empoleon
 
Way to go guys! I mean..seriously...way to go. You know people purposely did that to try to make it more fun? You know the staff spend their time coming up with ideas on trying to make the forums more fun for it's members. And what do they get? "Oh this isn't fun...it's stupid."

Don't like it? Give us some ideas!

It's a good start, but if theyre going to change it from a talk about this card thread, to a debate witch is better thread, please don't give us an obvious choice like that.

My first reading of this post was "please [get] new CotD guy", so that's why people thought that you were calling for his replacement.

I see now on rereading it, that it says "please 'new CotD guy'".

An any event, He is catching up on getting out the cards from the MD set since we will start running the new LA cards in a couple of weeks.

As such, he has come up with a creative way to run two at once.

Once we get past the main cards from the LA set, look for more "interesting" matchups and compartisons. But until we get the main cards from a set out, we're not going to jump back to older cards from previous sets.

Personally, I'm very happy with the CotD's coming out.
 
I notice that most of the whining is about the fact that "a foil card must be better than a non foil card". I think the point was about how useful they are, not astetics.
 
I would like to thank the CotD guy. What I don't understand is so many of the people posting every card to be a 9/10. If so many cards are a 9/10 then why didn't I see more different decks using them at Nationals. Really what gives a certain card a nine in the ratings. Well lets see. Its a pokemon card so thats better than a yugioh card so I'll give it a 9/10?

Good point.
Many people either give a card "9/10" or give it "1/10"
C'mon people. have a little more discernment in your ratings.
A card may not be as good as "card X".
That doesn't make it a 1. It just makes it a lesser rating than card X would get.
 
Sheesh if its not one thing its another. You guys are complaining about this like its the only reason you go on the Pokegym. Its a small and fun addition, but you guys are so unhappy about every single thing thats not the way you wanted. Instead of posting harsh and unnecessary criticism, why not give us some ideas? I'm sure our CotD Editor would love to hear what you want, and not hear so much about what you don't want, because that gets him nowhere other than "This stinks, bring us something new, and a glass of lemonade."
