I study to draw pokemon as well as Sugimori. I adore his art. I would be honored to get a card signed by him.

You have to love Sugimori for the fact that someone will describe to him an idea for a pokemon, and he makes it. Generic as they are, everyone else must comply to his designs.

Ya, hes very good at that, and I have nothing wrong with how he does the pokemon. It's just that his art doesn't really belong on cards as its more of a guide line showing what the pokemon should look like then actual art.

Ken Sugimori was there in 06, but I do not know about 07. I would assume that he would be there in 08.

That's not true, Suigimori's done some amazing cards in the past. Though he's lagging, I honestly prefer his art to clay and 3D images they use on cards, UGH.

For the most part, the art of the cards is the best feature of the game....but thats me. I enjoy every style that they try out and it's cool because they try to keep things fresh. There is an exception though, I didn't really like those kiddy type drawings throughout the years, especially those vending machine promos in japan. I don't think all of them look dumb but I just didn't favor the art on those cards much.

I hope to see Ken Suigimori as well, he did some awesome Charizard pictures. Can't wait to hear the news....

I don't care for teh 3d junk either, though the clay ones can be funny. I just perefer Arita or someone else who does similar artwork. Not something that looks like it took him 5min. to draw.

he also draws some of the anime from what I understand, that's a lot of work x-x;

He will occasionally do character designs for the anime, but he doesn't really animate it. When every movie rolls around he does all of character designs for the guest characters (So in in movie 10 he designed, Alice, Alberto, Tonio, the three trainers, etc)

I understand the artist drew Call Energy, so i gotta get my RH one signed. But what about all the other people? What will they sign?

Akabane is the only guest of the four who's actually done any art for cards (and only energy at that). For everyone else, it's really up to you. Presonally I'd have them all sign a copy of Diamond/Pearl. I had Mr. Ishihara sign my Yellow version back in 06.

I think that the actual game cart might be a little bit small to be signed. Maybe the box instead?

OMG yes... how could I've even forgotten that!!

Definitely like Arita and his style. I really liked the e-card era (Expedition, Aquapolis, Skyridge), and some of the better Gym Heroes/Gym Challenge. Oh and also who can forget the awesomeness that was the second half of the EX series (first half not too shabby either?)

I love all the experimentation, it keeps it fresh. Which is why I don't moan too much with the clay and the 3D, someone must like them. But the Sugimori stuff is just concept art with a lame background, It's good art. Not good card art.

On topic @ Cessation Crystal? Wow...
(OK, maybe not as on-topic as I would've liked. But what can you say with people who just don't illustrate that many cards?)

Yeah, that's what I meant. A DS game card is definately too small for a signiture. But GameBoy game carts should be fine (maybe not GBA games though), as long as you're fairly certain you won't be playing them again.

The video game creators are probably there because of the Video showdown, going on at the same time. Perhaps grab one of those little 'Worlds' posters and have all 4 creators sign that?

Oooooooooooh, that makes sense. Shame they can't be more[DEL] PCL guys [/DEL] card artists as well though

Actually, PCL guys should come down too!
