Is there a limit to the amount of cards you can have in your hand, as in to you have to discard down to X number at the end of a turn?

N9L - Bit of help for the future, it mgiht help you more by buyign a starter deck and reading the instruction book in it, or google the diamond and pearl TCG instruction book. I'm not making fun of you, it's just helpful advice for the future.

Yes, that was annoying about Yugioh. Lousy hands getting discarded just because you had a good way to draw cards. In Pokemon, there is no such limit on your hand. However, one of the most commonly used cards in most every deck played is Claydol from Great Encounters. Search the Gallery to see what it does. People that use it tend to try to keep a bit of a restriction to their own hand size to get the most out of its PokePower.

Lets just say this lol:

In unlimited, you can have a max of a 60 card hand.

In modified format, you can have a max of a 58 card hand.

Correct?

In Modified, it is also possible to have a 60 card hand. See Starmie LA's first attack!

LOL. OK, so you've managed to KO 5 of your opponent's pokemon without discarding any cards, you've drawn dozens of cards, and you only having Starmie active with an empty bench. With 50+ cards in your hand you draw your last card, KO one more pokemon, draw a prize, and then return Starmie to your hand.

That would be one heck of a game. :)

Exactly. See the link in my previous post.

Anyway...

The point is this: In Pokemon, there is no rule that limits the number of cards you can have in your hand.

I never said it would be feasible, but it's theoretically possible.
