Stats wise, is there a difference between pokemon you get hocking the game with a game shark, versus ones you catch the regular way? Why don't alot of people like to trade for hacked pokemon? Are they bad or defective in some way? i would like to know as my wife got a game shoark for the GBA and I wanted to use it to get Masterballs, rare candys, PP Max, Iron Protein, etc, and catch any pokies i couldn't have or missed otherwise. i understand some people may have problems with it just being so easy, but I'd like to know if there's a difference besides any moral issues here. thanks to you all who can answer this for me! :)

This is a very biased subject in the games, but I'll give you an explaination and my view.
Hacked pokemon aren't merely ones caught through a cheat device, bbut have also been given stats way above their possible limits. Imagine a pokemon with 999 of every stat, now that is urely a hack. Now my view with your other question is simply this. What did you do? If you used the device to cause something to happen to your pokemon that you could do normally, I see it as okay. You merely just took a different approach. Now by no means am I trying to give a thumbs up to AR but it's only real cheating if you gave your self an unfair advantage. This issue of what advantages are fair and unfair, I will leave solely to you.

ok hacked pokemon are like a video game virus that is contageous. I have an analogy for it but if I say it on the gym I will most likely get banned.

hacked pokemon also usually turn into bad eggs and have overly powerful stats like 999 across the board

Ar

I realy think that things like AR and gameshark are things to have fun with after you have beaten the game. I don't understand why someone cares if a cheat is used. As for the 999 stat thing, tell me if you find a code for AR that actually gets you a pokemon with those stats cus I can't find it. I think it's a myth.

NO 999's !!! LOL

No, I would never do that. I was going to raise them to Level 100 w/ candy, then raise the stats with calcium, iron, carbos, etc. u can only use those max of 10 on each stat, so it give like an extra 10 points to defense, sp. atk, spd, etc. i did it to my favorite, T-Tar, and his stats are still acceptable, nowhere above 360 on emerald, HP 336...at lv.100 i also used PP max to up his powers. I guess I pimped out the poke, to see what it would do, and it did well, but still gets beat by much faster pokies. The 999 thing I would never do. no bad eggs yet, knock on wood

That brings me to the next question...is this minor boosting wrong? if so, why do they sell things like game shark to begin with?

Depends on your perspective. As stated above people usually use these hacks/cheats after they have completed the game simply for amusement, something about an Electrivire that can use Fly amuses people. But theses hacks are looked down on by the competitive battling community. They sell them because people buy them.

Calcium, iron and all the other vitamins aren't considered cheating. They kust give a pokemon 10 EV points in a stat. A pokemon can have a maximum of 255 EVS in a stat and a total maximum of 510. every 4 EVs in a stat increases that actual stat by 1 point.

Hope thta helps.

Hacking is not as bad a people say it is. So do it because they don't have the time to raise Pokemon, so do it because their game crashed, and some do it to just flat out cheat. There are numbers of reasons why people do it. Just like people said in the above post. A "True" hack is hacking above the normal. I fought a friend in a battle and they had a Vaporeon with Volt Absorb and I did not know it. Sure its fun to use but any one who plays competitively will think your a noob. I believe that 90% of the competitive play field hacks anyway, but within the legal limits. So, its your game and you can do what ever you want with it but if you hack, a lot of people will turn down you trades and refuse your battles.

I don't like any cheats on pokemon so usually if your game has used cheats I try to stay away from them. I always will refuse trades from people who hack/cheat even if it is within legal limits.

This post is 100% full of misinformation.

how can i pokemon turn into an egg? o_O

It only does that if you put them on PBR for tournament play. Any Pokemon with anything they are not suppose to have, 511+EV, attacks,abilities etc, will be turned into bad eggs.

You sure? My bro played a heracross that was faster then his areodactal. When we checked its max speed later, it was 20 lower then his areodactl's. We might just be wrong, but still...

My T-Tar's stats

I am TRULY within legal limits, because at level 100 with all the carbos, ETC., his speed maxed out at 275, while attacks, etc are about 360 or so, even tho the hack is there, the game doesn't allow you to push it far. The HP is 336 @ lv.100, which is pretty low considering what DP can do to them with all that xtra ev, and then PBR, so I am ok with that. His powers are all what he can have: I gave him Thunderbolt, Fireball, Surf, and Earthquake. Hold item:leftovers. I got him in PXD, in the Orre colleseum, and he still got taken out by a Heracross with a salac Berry and Megahorn! OHKO! Ouch!

Honestly, if you hack a Pokemon to be within the range of normality I don't see the problem...who has the amount of time to invest leveling up countless Pokemon, and resetting your game to achieve the desired base stats? This makes them invalid for trading, perhaps, but they're still pretty legit as far as battling goes. I'd bet money the people who won those little video game championships used 'well-hacked' Pokemon.

RE: mikey's Statement.....

I totally got mixed, the speed stat I gave you was from my Mewtwo here is all the info on my T-Tar, which I named Godzilla:

Name: Godzilla/Tyranitar
ID No. : 56169
Nature: gentle (for a T-Tar? Now THAT'S funny!)
Hold Item: Left overs
HP=339
Att=309
Def=250
Sp. Att=235
Sp. Def=259
Speed=172

Powers:thunderbolt=24pp
flamethrower=24pp
Earthquake=16
Surf =24

Other than the PP max used on it's powers, I don't see how you can tell the difference. His stats look normal. If I were to try to trade this T-tar (which I won't I love him!) how would you know he's been the slightest bit hacked? That's what I'm getting at.

BTW: to end the debate, there is a hack on the shark that says raise stats of pokemon #1,2,3,etc. to max. This will allow you to have a Gyrados or whatever with everything 999 BUT you CANNOT trade it out of the game you hacked it in. How do I know? My wife tried to put this Gyrados she max hacked into my XD game so we could battle, and she would take out the T-Tar, but it would not let her trade it! Said something was wrong with the data, and stopped the trade. so it can be done, but can't be traded out.

I still think this T-Tar is good, and you wouldn't know it was hacked. If you asked, what if the trader lied to you?

Just to prove I didn't max hack him, I went into the game and wrote all his stats. my real fast ones are Mewtwo, Latios, and of course Deoxys normal forme in XD
