I read on the Rules Forums that all previous versions of a card have the same effect as the newest. They said that the Original Mysterious fossil now is played as the new one. In the answer they said that all of the reprinted cards are playe as the newest version. Therfore I would like to say on behalf of the Unlimited Format:

R.I.P. Bill

He will never see the light of day again!

No way...that seriously sucks...

RIP Bill, I'll still play you the way nature intended though; as a non-cruddy Trainer, instead of a cruddy Supporter.

Yes, but the "New Bill" is completely different than the old Bill. The new Bill is a supporter, not a trainer, therefore I don't think that the "old Bill" has to follow the 1-per-turn rule supporters do. We'll have to see, as they'll only answer that question AFTER HGSS is released, but I don't think you have to worry about that in Unlimited play.

You seriously expected otherwise? >_>;

That's always been how it works, going back to Metal and Dark Energy, and probably applies to at least a couple cards before those, even.

I totally plan on plying 4 Bill in all of my fun/non-competetive decks and using my old copies with a new one as reference,

Lemme introduce you to my little friend:

[gal=46058]Here Comes Team Rocket![/gal]

Which was later reprinted as a Supporter:

[gal=3363]Here Comes Team Rocket![/gal]

You play all versions of the card as a Supporter.

Sorry, Bill fans.

Time was a Supporter was a good card, given the supporter restriction because it was really good, usually because it gave you a decent sized hand or because it allowed you to target a specific kind of card. Nowadays, Supporter is just a theme that makes good old cards into bad ones instead of trying to restrict power.

I've never played with HCTR! so I claim ignorance. But, it makes sense. Bill now = fail.

Which ever card looks cooler would be the card to play. Seriously, if Bill let's you draw 3 cards with no drawback. That's one thing, but being that it's a supporter card makes it kind of sad.

Unlimited's not even sanctioned by pop right? Where do they get off telling you how to play cards in a format they don't even sanction. Seems bad that a card printed to be some silly filler turns the entire unlimited format on it's ear.

R.I.P., my good friend Bill. Played with you since Day 1. Now you're horrible.

Why they couldn't have just reprinted Mom's Kindness and not RUINED one of the best cards of all time?

It began with Here Comes Team Rocket...

But will it END, with Bill?

Can Erika be saved from the crushing grip of sadistic unoriginal Pokemon card makers? Will eventually there be a Pokeball supporter too? Or worse, will they make a new kind of "Only once per game" "Goods" card and call it Professor oak?

Oh the possible agony.

Wrong.
They do sanction unlimited.

And is Bill really played in unlimited?
I remember when it was still legal in the modified format, it was reprinted in Legendary Collection.
No one played it. It was a sup-optimal card.
I don't see how that has changed. There are better cards to play.

the only decks i even consider playable in unlimited now are

Dialga G
Vileplume ex
Crobat G Rush

Anything else is trash. However, in all 3 of these decks, I played 4 Bill :(

Ah ok thank you, obviously the fact that I bolded takes the rest of my post out of context.

Bye, Bill here's Bill's Teleporter (Neo Genesis) or here's Misty's Wrath (Gym Heroes) or here's Uxie.

Wrong.

Bill was one of the best deck thinners in unlimited. One of the things involved in my turn 1 Mewtwo X / Aerodactyl / DV lock... now I need to find something to replace them. Woo!

He might be sub optimal for most decks, but for anything speedy, they were a great card. He will be missed.
