Guys-

Why are you thinking of comboing these cards with any cards from Diamond & Pearl - Stormfront? These cards will not be in an English set until August.

Our next set is most of HGSS. Then, in April, our last set release prior to Nationals and Worlds, will be The Japanese Strategy decks and the rest of HGSS, along with the Japanese promos released from HGSS-on. These cards will not be printed until Our August 2010 set. What happens before those cards become tournament legal?

ROTATION.

Dp-SF will be rotated out prior to these cards becoming tournament legal. We missed rotation this year, when 4 sets should have been rotated. Considering that there are 7 sets in the DP block, it only makes sense to rotate all 7 at once. Therefore, no combos posted above involving cards from DP-SF and these cards will ever be tournament legal in modified.

The same thing was said about DP-GE 100% CERTAIN TO BE GONE AND GENGAR AND MACHAMP WILL DOMINATE ONOEZ.

Personally, I'd rather hold off on this speculation no matter how well-founded it may be, simply because TCPI might pull another rabbit out of its hat.

Eh, but DP-GE never made sense, since they said they want to try to keep our format as close to Japan's from now on. If they rotated through GE, they cut Japan's equivalent to Secret wonders in half since half of it is our Majestic Dawn. Also, from an R&D standpoint, by rotating GE they eliminate the remote possibility of stage 2 decks working, by rotating Claydol. SP would have absolutely nothing keeping it from being utter BDIF without a question, if Uxie was the only utility Pokemon. That's even without taking into effect the whole "Unown G is gone? GOGO GENGAR/MACHAMP" Who would probably be the only stage 2 decks to setup with Uxie since they only require 1 Energy to do their thing.

Also, keeping it GE-on would have also been pointless, since theres less than 10 playable cards in Dp-SW (Dusknoir, Gardy, Gallade, TSD...what else? lol)

What makes sense is this - September 1st, 2010, TPCI rotates the entire 7-set Diamond and Pearl Block. And from then on, all "blocks" are in groups of 4's, and they rotate a block a year.

September 1st, 2011 - Rotate Platinum Block
September 1st, 2012 - Rotate Legend Block
September 1st, 2013 - Rotate whatever block comes next

Etc. Of course it's just speculation, I'm just going off of educated guesses and from what they've done in the past. If they keep it something like LA-on, they'll eventually get to a point where a set got to played for 4 years in OP, which in my opinion is extremely unhealthy for the game.

DP will be legal for 4 Worlds once this Worlds passes by. First (and last?) set to ever do that?

I say that Rising Rivals and on Stays and Base comes back. That would ruin SPs and I think it would be a weird format.

On topic. I really like these legend cards. I can't wait to see the other cards. That Scizor is going to be a really intersting card and Kingdra will just... be awesome that is if Platinum and back gets rotated out before worlds.

Kingdra is good on paper but if Kingdra is popular people will just tech a fire type to put on the bench. I know you can use the other Kingdra as a backup plan, but you won't have time to set up another Kingdra that needs DCE and water.

My plan is to have Kingdra Prime as a Crobat G and an attacker if necessary, but I do 60 for [W] with my normal Kingdra + Expert Belt anyway, so I won't really be focusing on Kingdra Prime as an attacker.

it'd be fun to have 4 kingdra prime in play and just 40 snipe a turn. 2KO a claydol without attacking xD. also with a belt 80 for 1 (or 40 which would turn INTO 80 against a fire type) is pretty good as well.

Well, unfortunately they do not need to keep that fire type active. That could really hurt a straight Kingdra Prime deck.

yeah. but still, with 4 snipe a turn you could probably get that fire type gone in two turns, as long as you also play 2 crobat G and 4 poketurn line. you could even play it like raybees with luxray GL X to pick off fire types and do some easy damage if they have fire types in play.

My Nidoqueen RR goes SOI SOI SOI SOI.

3 LA / 1 Prime or 2 LA / 2 Prime, ceteris paribus.

Have fun teching in a Nidoqueen RR AND a Fire tech JUST for Kingdra, something tells me that ain't gonna work.

Nidoqueen goes SOI SOI SOI regardless of whether or not I have a fire tech. And fire's become an increasingly popular type, eh? And you're right, forgive me, Nidoqueen is such a garbage pokemon, I would NEVER tech it into my decks! Silly me!

Has anyone thought of Entei & Raikou with Manectric PL? Keep your own bench protected while you can abuse spreading with Manectric coming out with a power wave to finish some things off without having to re-attach the two energy.

My favorite decks in the making: Scizor Prime, and Donphan Prime.

Oh. T-Tar Prime will probably be very promising, too.

What is SOI?

And please play fire; I love OHKO Fires thanks to my 160 damage for [W]. :)

Our current Kingdra cannot be an effective attacker due to the cost of the attack. Discarding two cards from your hand every turn to keep a solid flow of damage is honestly just awful. With so much Claydol hate, and power stopping abilities in the format, Kingdra LA cannot be relied upon. This Kingdra gives us the same strength our old one had, but now does not have to sacrifice being good to do it. There is the problem with fire, but you can use one of the LA Kingdra for that.

Aside from a few SP's who really can't stand some of the changes the next few sets make (Say hi to Feraligatr, he might not be the best card around but he doesn't care much about SP's thanks to its Grass weakness) (Say hi to Donphan who slams straight through most (if not all) SP's), there isn't really that much fire in the format. That leaves us with Charizard and Typhlosion. Charizard teching in a Nidoqueen? Surely you jest. That leaves us with Typhlosion.

And yes, Nidoqueen is an annoyance to Kingdra but does EVERY deck run it? Do 50% of the decks run it? No to both.
