All the well known players didn't play Chatot G.
Well at first they did for sure, but after some tournaments they realized, that it wasn't needed at all.
As stated out before it is just a "Win more" card and a totally wasted space in a list in my opinion.,..
Con, Aziz and all those guys didn't play Chatot G, remember that....
And I don't play Chatot G too.

Lol at your Signature, you're not 1720+.

I played Smeargelock at all my BRs, and i can't say it was inconsistent at all. I went 3-1, 6-2, 6-1 and 2-1. It is the best Sablelock version imo because off the ability to look at your opponent's hand BEFORE using Cyrus's Initiative/Judge.
My signature is true, but my rating's not updated yet, because some organizers didn't report the tournaments yet....

We could switch arguments until the worlds end, but everybody has his own opinion and that's yours.....
I say, that 1 Smeargle as a addition to the Sableyes does the same and has a lot more consistency than starting with Smeargle as much as possible ;D
And I won two BRs and got 2nd at PEC with it ;D

Seriously don't mention BR wins in Austria, no level.

You're the biased one, the matchups in your article are plain stupid. If they were true everybody would play Sablelock, no? Yet it isn't even included in the top 5 in CCs.

In regards to Gyarados. Sablelock can actually beat G-dos quite consistently if you know how to play against it. BDK along with judge can really hurt g-dos. BDK allows the OHKO and disruption factor.

If we are to talk about BDK versus Blaziken in the deck. Run both. It allows more options and typing advantages. Jwittz ran both in his build and was successful with it.

Yeah... guess people don't play it much, really. It's seriously good IMO, and will get better if LostGar gets popular.

What's your point?
You trying to bash me?
Lol that kinda sucks, man I wrote in my article that the MUs are based on MY axperience with Sablelock and noone elses....
Moreover the level in austria is still raising and trust me never judge someone with the his location and please don't underestimate me....
Austria may have many bad players, but there are some really good too, even if it is just a hand full.
Never ever mention that in one of your posts again or believe me I am going to report you.
Thanks for understanding this.

[Really? Based on what, wins? All that proves is that is was played more. FYI, Sablelock did VERY well at Cities, it just wasn't played much. In fact, based on results, I actually think Sablelock is one of the 3 best decks out there, along with Dialgachomp and Luxchomp.

Are you saying that luxchomp, dialgachomp, and sablelock are (or were) the best three decks?

Quoted for truth. Sablelock can be really good, it's a metacounter, not tier 1 material. It's a counter for Vilegar based metas, nothing more.
Quoted because you're wrong....
Sablelock also did good BEFORE Vileplume ever existed ;D

How did you do at CCs?

Tell me in detail how Sablelock 60-40's Gdos and i'll counter.

I won the CC....
let's talk per PM, or we'll both get some warnings ok?....

Actually I have to disagree with you [H_FB, Darkmot ninja'd me] there; Sableye is certainly tier 1, it's just not the BEST tier 1. It is matchup based (has issues with some specific matchups) and Vilegar is not its only good matchup. It eats most Stage 2 decks quite easily, but I've also seen it best Luxchomps and Dialgas depending on the user and how successful the disruption is.

I still maintain that overall Luxchomp is probably slightly superior.

Edit: go go Darkmot go

^
Yeah. not to mention that Sablelock is played less.

Overall, Sablelock is harder to play then LuxChomp, which is one of the reasons it is not played as much, as well as a reason it isn't as successful - the GOOD Sablelock players will win with it. The bad one's won't.

Chrataxe: Thank you. So many people forget to take into account the fact that LuxChomp is BY FAR the most-played deck, so it's not surprising it's taken so many wins. By no means is it not an amazing deck -- it's just that its strength alone is not what got it so many Cities wins.

Just like to point out that there was not a single LuxChomp CC's win in the state of Illinois, at least for Masters (not sure about Seniors/Juniors). The closest thing to a LuxChomp was Cody W's deck, and at least according to JWittz, that was more of a Sablelock deck than a LuxChomp deck.

I think Sablelock is actually harder to play than other SP's minus DialgaChomp, especially given the luck factor in it, which could be a reason why not many people played it. If you run Honchkrow SV and Blaziken, though, it /really/ helps a lot of your matchups and takes the luck factor out a little more 'cause the two of them help immensely against tank decks.

I'm personally a huge fan of Bronzong G in Sablelock. Not only does it help conserve the minimal amounts of Energy people play in this deck, but it helps immensely with getting Honchkrow SV set up more quickly. I would drop a Cyrus before I'd drop Chatot G, and that's no joke.

I actually have to disagree with you with that last one, Darkmot. From what I heard, when Silvestro/Curry first came up with the deck, they were using it in a Cursegar-heavy meta, with a HUGE emphasis on donking.

That's true, but it was invented in Japan for some reason I don't know hmh xD
No, when they FIRST played it, but then we saw it performing awesome at Nationals and even at Worlds with Non-Cursegar-heavy-Metas....
Always a thing of your perspective...

Tier 1 for CCs
That's it. Sable doesn't belong there because, it has a bad Gdos matchup AND an unfavorable LuxChomp matchup. Sablelock is probably the best tier 2 deck out there. It only fares well if Gdos or LuxChomp are abscent.
Sablelock's Luxchomp MU is 50-50 and the Gyara one is 60-40
Believe that and read the MUs in my article and that's it.....

Just a quick question, how does Smearglelock work? You're not choosing your own supporters to use, and I just don't see how it contributes to the lock.

I don't think that 'the masses are playing LuxChomp' 'Sablelock is harder to play' are good enough reasons to make up for the 20:1 CC win ratio of LuxChomp vs. Sablelock.

How is Sablelock harder to play? It's harder to win with Sablelock, but those two are totally diferent.

Start with Smeargle, hope to get a Collector out of the oppenent's hand, probably get Unown Q and Sableye and probably Chatot G, then play Sableye active and go for Judge or Cyrus' Initiative and disrupt your oppenent.
Just black and white description, but pretty much the point....
However does work rare and for me it is too inconsistent...
