Strategy: Basically get out yanma and yanmega as soon as possible and power up donphan on the bench. When yanmega is in trouble, free retreat and send up donphan. Yanmega is the main attacker in the deck, by using copycats or judge to get the same amount of cards in your hand as your opponent and hit him anywhere from 40-130 w/ expert belt and/or pluspowers. If a yanmega with a e. belt is i trouble, free retreat and use seeker. Giratina is also used as a stall and his let loose power also helps get the same amount of cards in your hand as your opponent. Any suggestions?

FYI you can only retreat once per turn.

Yanmega, eh?? Well I don't know it as well as ariesucks, but he's never on here anymore.
You don't need Donphan.. or Shaymin for that matter. Just rush Yanmega with Rescue Energy's all day. Trainer engine should be something like:
4 Dex
4 Drawer
3 Junk Arm
2 VS Seeker
2 Pokemon Rescue
3 Dual Ball

Then you'll want:
4 Judge
4 Copycat

Also:
4 Unown R
2-2 Attack Cherrim
3 Smeargle
1 Unown Q

Notes: As you can see, this is a trainer rush. No Collector. No Bebe's. Disruption and speed is the name of the game. Smeargle steals the Supporters you don't have. You can VS Seeker for Judge/Copycat. Junk Arm for VS Seeker lolz. You take a loss to Trainer Lock, and DialgaChomp is hard but not an auto-loss.

Yeah, sorry about the retreat thing. I knew that but I just had a brain fart or something. I had smeargle but i hated him. hes an easy kill really. and i got the 4 judge and copycats. and donphan, as the people say above me...hes for luxchomp and shaymin is just to give my yanmega some more health since he has so-so hp

Yanmega is a speed deck, that is how it wins. Donphan might help vs Luxray, but it will cost you wins against non Luxray decks. If you want to play Yanmega just understand that it will loose badly to decks with Luxray, Dialga ond Vilplume.

On the plus side it owns the Gyrados matchup.

^^^ This stuff.
Also.. Like I said, LuxChomp aint no autoloss.. They cannot keep up with the constant stream of Judges. You are OHKO'ing all their stuff 70 + Cherrimx2 + Expert Belt. Once they're looking at 4 Cyrus in the discard and you Judge them.. You should be in good shape.

I am going to try and run a variant of this deck with a blissey prime tech. Its pokepower, nurse call, removes all damage counters from a pokemon if you discard all energies attached to it. you don't have to discard them if the pokemon has none attached to it. Also, with the newest rulings on lookers investigation, you can use that to get the same amount of cards as your oponent.

How about adding in a jumpluff line for high cheap attacks. Or put in a sunflora to help get your pokemon out without the use of trainers and supporters, by using its power. This helps with all the hand disruption in getting another yanmega set up or in the event of rescue energy being removed. I know a jumpluff deck at the bigget UK cities made top 4 I think.

this is such a true statement, Sunflora really makes Yanmega all the more competitive - letting you still equal your opponent's hand after judging / looker / copycatting and playing a card you draw into.

I would tech in a regice LA for the LostGar / Vilegar match up for it to be much less lopsided ;)

Yanmega Prime is going to be one of the new deck archetypes - and it will only get stronger as this format moves forward :thumb:

Interesting! I totally agree with the Sunflora line (i just run 1-1 though for less chance of starting with one alone), the giratina and the Regice too.
I run only one uxie - i prefer having azelf with it for getting a commonly prized yanmega or a freakishly rare prized uxie, unown q, etc. and run 2 Crobats instead of smeargles - helping me snipe out things in tandem with either of yanmegas attacks.

I really differ on the T/S/S Line though...

It seems to me that pokemon collector is huge in this deck - so i run four for consistently getting an uxie, yanma, and sunkern/azelf/Regice typically. Running pokemon collector gives you a MUCH better chance playing against an active Spiritomb Trainer Lock. You just search for Regice, and regimove it out to be able to get out of trainer lock! Also, in running 4 pokedexes, it helps me almost always set up by turn 1. I also run 4 warp point - which works wonders on gyarados and combos GREAT early game with seeker for an early game donk. Seeker and SSU are also great for recovering yanmegas when combined with broken time space. A swarming (rescue energy and sunflora) AND recovering (seeker and SSU) yanmega deck is very intimidating!

My list I have right now is running only with rescue energy, and 1 vs seeker, and i virtually can always manipulate my hand to equal my opponents with the help of 4 judge, 3 copycat, regice, junk arm, and even seeker!

EDIT. what i had here before is not a legal combo.. sorry! :p

so far Speed Yanmega is about 60-40 against LostGar with 2 SF Gengar and 2 Lostgar and a Vileplume tech. Yanmega has gone 6-0 so far against Set-Up Gyarados

But I have much more testing with my roommate to do! :D

A great strategy i discovered - Is your Expert Belted Yanmega running low on health and you cannot scoop or seeker? Do you have unown q in your hand or bench? Just attach the unown q to yanmega - which discards expert belt! Great defensive play that works with any deck that utilizes q and expert belt. :D

just so you're aware this wouldn't be legal.
Q. If I have one of the Unowns with a Poke-POWER that lets me attach it as a Tool, can I use it if there is already a Tool card attached?
A. No, you cannot have more than one Tool attached to a Pokemon; therefore you could not use Unown's Poke-POWER to make it a second Tool card. (Jul 10, 2008 PUI Rules Team)
Regarding the list, I would take out some things for the sunflora, warp energy and an uxie/azelf.

- 3 defenders (never really found this card useful, it gets discarded after 1 turn)
-1 expert belt (i've never played three, mainly because i scoop or seeker up my damaged belted pokemon and re-use it on ym new attacker, rather than let it get knocked out and give away 2 prizes.)
-1 Miasma valley (this is not a staple in the deck and 3 may clog your hand later on)

+ 1-1 sunflora (pokemon search as said before)
+ 1 warp energy (get that active donphan out of danger in event of trainer lock)
+ 1 uxie (draw power)
+ 1 azelf (on no! its prized!! don't have to worry with an azelf in the house)

Hope this helps :D

This is actually not true. You can not hit them anywhere for 130 if belted and powers are out. You can only hit the active pokemon for 130 and anywhere else for 40.
